Road to Victory (2007)
One film and so many messages.
Just viewed this at the Silver Wave Film Festival in Fredericton, N.B. within the past week ! Man, this film has layer after layer of plot ... it is precisely the kind of film that one can undoubtedly view again and again and take something different away following each viewing. And, I know from others who attended the screening that empathy with the leading characters may vary by gender of the viewer with each being completely moved by the shear honesty of the film , albeit form differing perspectives. Road To Victory tells it like it is ... and it is the very kind of current and relative story that Needs to be told in an honest an exposed manner. It honors the Healing Power of Vulnerability !
Deadwood (2004)
Deadwood delivers the real Wild West.
Deadwood captures the heart, spirit and soul of the Wild West.Like metal to a magnet, I was drawn into the story line and the characters who build this compelling story of the drive to survive against all odds . Deadwood pushes the envelope from the opening moments capturing its viewers from the outset through dialog and circumstance with an ever tightening grip as the storyline progresses. The casting is mind blowing ... each delivering a totally credible performance. The array and linkage of characters portrayed broaden Deadwood's appeal to the extent that most ,in their moment and for a variety of reasons, become "your favorite character" at one time or another. And, attention to detail, detail, detail!
