Vexed: Episode #1.1 (2010)
Loved Lucy Punch
I really like this show. Lucy Punch makes it what it is. The sound track, music and some of the loud banter the various characters spout out is ALL so annoying. I dont like the music in the action scenes or even in the more intimate scenes. The music chosen for this show sucks. It makes me anxious. The humor is funny. I dont understand why Lucy begs her husband to give her a chance to be the kind of woman and wife he wants. He is a jerk. There is nothing at all wrong with her and he tells her he wishes she would just stop breathing because the sound of her breathing bothers him. I haven't watched the second season where they replace Lucy Punches character with someone else. But I did see a picture of the actress and her eyes are all super wide open. She looks like I'm not going to like her. I will let you know on my season 2 episode one review.
Wentworth (2013)
Brilliant casting, writing and acting! Best series on Netflix
Wentworth is a thrilling show to watch. The women in the prison each have their own back stories to their lives and the reason why they are in prison. Some are violent coming into prison and some turn violent after being in there for a while. The many personalities and psychological makeups of the various women go from extremely narcisistic, selfish, violent and dishonest to the opposites where you have the caretaker types, the needy types and the fearful ones and then there are ones that come in all innocent but change overtime and end up getting longer prison sentences. Overall it causes some intense conflicts that never seem to let up. The storylines are unbelievablely good and there is so much friction between everyone. What blows my mind is how everyone had to watch their backs all the time. How scary would that be? This is an intense, gritty, emotional, intriguing series. I would recommend this show to everyone. It will hook you from the start. The types of relationships that go on between the prisoners and also between the prisoners and the officers are so interesting and written so well. They are so exciting and fascinating. I just finsihed it and I am not done. I want more of it. There is drugs, sex, gore, death, pregnancies, twisted psychopaths, gang fights, murders, humor, innocent people who shouldn't be there that get sucked into all of the drama and violence. They have to have someone or a group they are loyal to and belong to to protect themselves. I kept wondering, if they weren't women who committed crimes on the outside, would it still be segragated and violent like that? If normal women were locked up like that, would they behave that same way. Well for one thing, they use a lot of heroin and drugs in prison so there are problems with the women selling it and the women buying and using it. Even the officers bring in drugs. This show is so involved and intense with many storylines and scenarios going on and not one episode was boring. The acting is supreme. So much better than American actors. The writing is brilliant and casting as well. Every character was great and a perfect fit for the show. The only one that I could have done without was Ann. I wished they would have cast someone else for her character. Incredible conclusion to 9 seasons of the most awesome show on Netflix.
