Brokeback Mountain (2005)
Brokeback...Fantastic!
I'm usually not one to call many movies "excellent". But "Brokeback Mountain" was. As Ebert pointed out this has been viciously and wrongly dubbed as a "gay cowboy movie". So not the case. The acting from all, Heath and Jake, Michelle Williams and Anne Hathaway was top-notch! The story...enthralling. The direction..Ang Lee is one of the best directors today. The screenplay adaption was great! The intensity of the cinematography was brilliantly captured. The story...is highly thought provoking...and I was crying after the movie, during the movie, and I even paid to see it again...I never do that...it was that good! Recommended viewing for all who won't be offended by the "gay" subject matter...believe me...the story is so captivating...u may not even notice;)
The Amityville Horror (2005)
Oh my god!
The only reason this got 4/10 star is because a few jolting moments. That is all. The original "Amityville Horror" wasn't a great movie but it was a "fair" movie rather...having more than a few genuinely creepy moments kept it somewhat entertaining. However...why are we remaking horror classics? Next thing we know F13 is going to be remade with Jason's mother actually being a homicidal transsexual driving around the woods in some old Jeep praying on hired help trying to reach the respective camp. I tell ya. Or a remake of Nightmare on Elm Street having Robin Williams in a controversial portrayal of Freddy, who turns out is actually the father of Nancy and conceived Nancy in a cheap hotel room while Nancy's "real" parents had separated over mutual alcoholism. If these sound plausible than you'll love the remake of Amityville Horror.
Where the Boys Aren't 15 (2001)
Chi Chi returns for yet another all-girl romp!
Directrix Chi Chi LaRue (who is, by the way, my fav director of adult films) directs yet another all-girl sex fest. This however is not as good as her previous all-girl effort for Vivid 'Where the Boys Aren't 14'. Chi Chi is quoted in May 2003 AVN saying that title simply implies "girls eating each other out" so 'chi' takes the liberty of concocting little themes for these film. This setting for this film is an auto-repair shop. Thiis film has some pretty hot, albeit most of which is fairly standard sex. Chi Chi, best known for her gay(all-male) films add some semi-subversive twist and she does so in scene in which the gorgeous and fabulous Briana Banks enters a restroom and sees what she assumes to be two men standing over urinals...well, see the movie! Vivid once again releases a solid effort that should satisy all-girl porn fans! Chi Chi is set to direct WTBA 16 & 17. Be on the look-out! See WTBA 14...it is slightly better.
Where the Boys Aren't 14 (2001)
Chi Chi does it again!
Porn directrix Chi Chi LaRue does it again. This time not with gay(all-male) sex but with all-girl sex. And she does it well. As I watched this film I liked all the little touches (fetishistic boot worship, phallicizing objects)! These women are gorgeous! They had real chemistry. The sex is never dull and is always amazing. Any fan of all-girl films should rejoice! Chi Chi really has fun directing these girls and it shows. A solid entry from Vivid and Chi Chi LaRue. Note: This was an AVN editors pick!
Bankable (2002)
Chi Chi once again, delves into "straight" porn
Although Chi Chi has directed some "straight" titles in the past. Not very many have been boasted by a particularly major studio. "Bankable", starring Brianna Banks is, by looks, obviously a Vivid production. What does Chi Chi lend to this genre? As with most other Vivid production this film boasts hot women and decent looking men (as far as straight porn goes). This film feature some pretty hot rimming and assplay shots other than that... a typical Vivid production. Chi Chi does well with the resources (decent looking men, hot women and decent production values). Fan of Brianna Banks and/or Vivid should be thoroughly pleased. AVN magazine gave this AAAA out of AAAAA. I agree.
Mass Appeal 2 (2002)
Not nearly as good as the first, but good!
The follow-up to the GayVN award winner is not nearly as sexy as the first. Micheal Zen, director or the first Mass Appeal crafted a very sexy film, with very sexy stars. Jim Steel still has the very sexy stars but doesn't direct them with the same likeness that Micheal did in the first. With that said, this is still perhaps the best bi-sexual movie of 2002. A must see for Jim Steel, Ken Ryker, or bi-sex movie fans!
