Norma Jean & Marilyn (1996 TV Movie)

Dead Awful
29 May 2008
I saw this at my friends house who said it was great so i watched it and i thought it was dreadful! who did the research? There were so many errors, the biggest one that bugged me was in the scene where she got her stage name, in the movie it said she got her last name from a president, wrong! in actuality Marilyn got her last name from her mothers maiden name (monroe) however in the movie and real life she did get her name from Marilyn Miller. The next at the end, it implied that she died in the bedroom, that may have well been where she took the pills that lead to her demise, but she didn't die there she died in the bedroom everyone knows that. Mira Sorvino usually is a good actress, but this was poor, she softened her voice, however she didn't achieve Marilyn's seductive, breathless voice and she portrayed her as dumb when Marilyn was as opposite to the public's opinion was smart and shy not like that. Ashley Judd however was interesting to watch as Norma Jeane, it surprises my why Ashley agreed to that movie as she has been in so many great pictures. Terrible film!

Great Flick
22 March 2008
This was an excellent film, it was funny, sad, and at times dramatic, i loved this movie and Ester's little duck, i have the soundtrack and there isn't one song i don't like in it a truly great Australian film.

I could relate to Esther as i am a social outcast (however i have never wanted to fit in) like Esther wants to. The storyline was a little predictable but i didn't really care as i just love the feel good ending.

I enjoyed this movie and urge you to see it all the acting performances were excellent especially the first time actress Danielle Catanzariti who played Esther.

Loved it all the way if you are wondering if you should see it or not. See it!

cool

I love this movie and i was talking to my uncle who played "moose" in the film said he really enjoyed it i love this! yes i thought it was very good for an Australian film because i am critical as i have seen a lot of disappointing Australian movies (excluding a few like: "Muriel's Wedding" and "The Castle") i thought it was brilliant i really like it and it was sort of a coo to see someone who i was related to in a film. Must see this really great film i can't stress it enough a real Aussie classic. i also urge you if you want to see some more good Aussie movies i recommend "The Home Song Stories" "The Castle" "Muriel's Wedding" "Boytown" "Crackerjack" those are the Aussie films that i think are the cream of the Australian film industry.

A very enjoyable movie (spoilers)
4 January 2008
Warning: Spoilers
The Seven Year Itch was based on the sex comedy play by George Axelrod it had been running successfully for two years before it was picked up by 20th Century Fox, Billy Wilder and George Axelrod wrote the screenplay for it, they had to turn down some of the raunchier jokes (back then they were) which is a same, it was a great vehicle for the comedic genius Marilyn Monroe and the talented middle age man who is having trouble with fidelity played by the wonderful Tom Ewell (who also was in the play).

Tom Ewell's character keeps having day dreams about him being staying loyal like women coming on to him and rejecting them etc. and one day dream has him being shot when his wife find out (played by Evelyn Keyes) it is a very funny movie and Monroe is at her funniest and her most alluring.

This movie also contains the scene when Monroe's skirt blows up this was hard to get around the censor but with some clever cutting and it was fine.

However in the end he remains loyal never touch Monroe's character who never gets named, and returns to his wife (she has been away on holidays) A wonderful film a must see!

Atonement (2007)

A Fine Piece Of Work
3 January 2008
I saw this film several days ago and let me tell you it is mesmerizing, magnetic and moving. It is a little slow at the beginning but once the movie gets about twenty minutes in it gets good, it shows you all sides of the war, the separation, the death, the horror that the soldiers had to go through. It also shows you the result of one person's actions and then later regret.

Atonement i must say has gorgeous scenery just breath taking, beautiful, i can't find enough words to describe the alluring county side.

The acting was superb although the little girl at the beginning "Briney" did annoy me a bit, it has several twists, and at the end of the movie it wraps everything up in a neat little package so you don't go home wondering what happened to so and so or how did that happen.

the movie jumps around a bit but you get used to it and you see it is a very clever movie making method.

All in all i loved this movie, an film i really enjoyed seeing, this it is worth it, so if you get the chance i really encourage you to see it!

Funniest movie ever!
3 January 2008
this is the funniest movie ever, it is based on the character Mary Katherine Gallagher made up by Molly Shannon who worked on SNL for a while, I love Molly Shannon although she hasn't starred in much she has had a lot of small parts in movies for example "Talladaga Nights: the Ballard of Ricky Bobby" "Evan Allmighty" and "Serendipity" but she is seen in supporting roles in other fantastic comedy movies that you must see, for example "Never Been Kissed" and "Night At The Roxbury"

They do this dance in the middle of the cafeteria which i love, the do it to the song "Gonna make you sweat" there are so many jokes in it physical humor as well as a lot of spoken jokes, and a lot of little subliminal jokes e.g. the "bad girl" in it s called Evian. Also i find it funny when she makes out with a tree! All in all Hilarious if you ever get the chance see it! it's a must 10/10!
