Honestly....I love horror films but.....I was TOO SCARED TO SLEEP
19 June 2008
Warning: Spoilers
The Shining and the Exorcist have to be the most frightening movies I have ever seen.

I went to see this one yesterday in the afternoon in a theater and the lady there that sold me the ticket told me no one else was in the theater. I told her "Good, I will be more scared" . I found myself jumping, looking around the theater and when I got home I was looking in the closets for masked intruders. This could happen and is a lot like IN COLD BLOOD...or the Manson murders...they did it because THEY WERE HOME. I couldn't sleep all night...I kept seeing the dude with the ugly mask. Dark Ride is another good scary movie...for mask lovers...I still love horror films. I was glad when the sun came up. Ha. ha.

Wow the redheads in this series.
25 August 2006
This series has really affected my life. You can't help but notice the tons of redheads that this series had. Just wondered if anyone else has a thing for redhair, I am hooked on it now. Love how deep the series goes into relationships and it is so cool. Love how it explores the gay lifestyle in a charming manner, it is not a turnoff like maybe Brokeback Mountain.. Everyone in the series is terrific as far as acting goes. Love this series and wish it would have continued....I never get bored watching it. Frances Conroy and Patricia Clarkson have to be some of the best in the show...I really gravitate towards Michael Hall, he is so businesslike on the job, and boy does he let his hair down on his time off. All in all a fabulous series, one that I will always enjoy.

Gotta say more on Angelina and Colin
26 May 2006
I just remembered Angelina and Colin are only 1 year apart. Whaat?? The scene that looked the funniest was when Colin Farrell is supposed to be Angelina's son, oh yeah? I don't think so, what was Oliver Stone thinking, was he high?

This is the worst movie I have seen in ages. And the armies, they were huge. I know this is Hollywood, but it was overdone and like I said before the character developments were non existent, unless you believe that Angelina Jolie could be Colin's mother, it's not happening. I am so sick of these newer films that never match up to the older ones. They keep making remake after remake of old movies and non of them compare to the originals. Don't know if this was made before, but how can you compare a hunk like Steve Reeves to Colin Farrell, it ain't happening.

Joachin has a wonderful acting ability at even this young age!!!
15 August 2005
This is one of those movies you see on a Sunday afternoon on TV. This was my first time renting it from the library, I am trying to watch all of Joachin's films. His acting was great an so was his reading ability..that is what makes a great actor. The little blond that was in Something Wicked This Way Comes was exceptional as well. The 80's look comes thru in this movie, and it still stands up to today's films. If you like Joachin Phoenix, this is one to admire and watch. The music is really 80's a lot of keyboard. And the only person I didn't like was Carol King. She can't act and she can barely sing. Otherwise it was enjoyable.

Pitiful attempt at entertainment
21 June 2005
Warning: Spoilers
This may be a video game, but it all started with Vincent Price and the Tingler. This all has been done before with The Tingler, Ailien, Pitch Black(a way better movie). Stephen Dorff looks like he just woke up, his hair a dirty mess. I think he has hepatitis from Pam Anderson. Tara Reid is trying to look intelligent with her hair on top of her head and glasses. And like I said, this has all been done before. Nothing new. The crouching tiger special effects in the beginning make you think you are watching an action film. I haven't even watched it all yet, and I am dreading finishing watching it. Hollywood needs some good writers, and this movie should be on the all time worst list.

Trancey soundtrack!!!!!
26 May 2005
Warning: Spoilers
The soundtrack was awesome, and if you like trance music, you will want to get the music in this film. This was real life, no staging here. I was shocked, and never knew that the Amish teens did such a thing. I think it was a cool film, and it was interesting to note that 90% of all the Amish kids, go into the faith in the end. Train up a child in the way they should go, and in the end, they will not depart from it. That is a scripture that is so true. I highly recommend this movie to anyone, to become more educated about the Amish. I really think that they are a mysterious people and we could all learn from them. I am amazed that I find really unique music in movies and not on the radio. Like I said, it is worth the viewing.

Reminds me of Show Me Love and All Over Me.
18 April 2005
Warning: Spoilers
May contain spoilers, people. ***********************************

This was one of my favorite movies and it really reminded me of All Over Me, Show Me Love and even Boys Don't Cry. Frankie is obviously butch, she dresses butch has no makeup, but is willing to swing over to being heterosexual with Heath. All of the previous movies I mentioned are so close to this film, that it was nothing "new" just done before. Frankie and Nichola are so close, that Josee interrupts their tight friendship. I think Frankie is in love with Josee, but finds out Josee is very fickle and would do anything with anyone for fun, so Frankie out of loneliness chooses Heath and even considers putting on a dress, which is extremely difficult for her, so difficult that the night Heath is making dinner for her, she wanders off to the bar looking for Josee again. One of the more interesting youth oriented films out there.

It is a gruesome mess.
12 April 2005
Warning: Spoilers
Just because Tarantino has good taste in music, and some flashy scenes, he isn't great, he's an ugly geek. He is always overrated. I didn't like Pulp Fiction either. So he steals music from old TV shows and always music that has been around before, except for the jazzy new theme someone cooked up. Tarantino is a foul mouthed pig in my opinion, and I know people are gonna get mad about this, but who cares? It is violent and what is so great about someone who slices off limbs and heads? It is over the top in my opinion. Out of line and off the hook! Uma Thurman must be hard up for money to make this mess of a movie. Sorry action fans, this one leaves me sick to my stomach.

Reminds me of Chuck and Buck
17 February 2005
Warning: Spoilers
This comment contains spoilers!!!!!!! Just letting you all know!!! ***************************

This movie reminds me highly of the homo-erotic movie, Chuck and Buck. Harry is infatuated with Michel, infatuated enough to murder his parents, brother, and anyone that gets in the way of his closeness to Michel. He is in love with Michel..anyone could tell by the obsession with wanting to be near him, following him all the way out to his house and staying at the villa with him and his wife and three daughters. Plum is just something to satisfy him sexually...he even admits it turns him on that she has an animal mentality!!! Michel is his ultimate guy.

I think that Michel was very much of a people pleaser. Harry picks right up on this. Michel is very much under Harry's spell and even though he puts up a little disapproval about what he really believes, goes along with practically everything pushy, control hungry Harry wants of him! I think Michel killed Plum. Just look at the movie again, you can see that he doesn't want Harry to go in the bedroom to wake her up. Michel becomes Harry's little robot.

From Hell (2001)

Foggy, scary,well acted.
8 February 2005
The movie was excellent! Depp's cockney accent is great...but I don't think Abberline was from the East End of London. Johnny has charisma and played it extremely well. I think he should have been nominated for an award. Heather Graham is gorgeous...and her accent could have used a little more work. Her acting was good, better than I have seen in any of her films. The actress that played Catherine Eddows should have been a thin brunette...that was a mistake.

And the latest findings on Jack the Ripper (from the author Patricia Cornwell) show that the British painter, Walter Sickert was really Jack the Ripper...and yes, he did kill 5 women and maybe even some young children. Patricia Cornwell spent 3 million dollars on a new investigation with Scotland Yard and she came up with new DNA evidence that links a letter to Walter Sickert, the famous British painter. So as entertaining as this movie is...the new Sickert theory is the most convincing Jack the Ripper so far. I was disappointed that they didn't use this new theory. The real Mary Kelly was young and beautiful...the rest of the victims were in their forties and homely. . Bravo From Hell...best Ripper movie yet.

A jewel heist in LA was action packed!
3 December 2004
The opening song, how they speed down the highway, and show the tall buildings in LA was so dreamy, I knew this was gonna be a fantastic film. Harvey Keitel did a superb job and this IS a CLASSIC in my opinion...very underrated!!! Timothy Hutton has become one of my favorites after viewing and buying this movie, he is one great actor. Famke Jenssen is actress who deserves better parts. I had seen her in House on Haunted Hill, and her looks are somewhat like Barbara Steele. She really impressed me in this movie.

Stephen Dorff is one of my favorites, his talents also deserve better parts, what is up with that? Fear Dot Com and Cold Creek Manor, he really needs to get back to Backbeat, Who Shot Andy Warhol? and The Power of One type parts. He also blows Jude Law away with his looks and People magazine never has him in there. I don't like when he is mean and a villain, either.

All in all this is a terrific action flick, and always worth a look. I own this and watch it all the time, and never tire of it. The views of LA are magnificent with that haunting brilliant soundtrack!!!

Rollercoaster (1999)
Dreamy music, great acting, real life teen situation.
30 November 2004
You can buy this movie at famvid.net for under $8!!. I couldn't stop watching it once I rented it. The realistic teen drama was enhanced by the dreamy music that floated thru the amusement park. I could never imagine climbing a roller-coaster, and this was really amazing to watch. I don't understand why Darrin jumped off the coaster. Was it because Chloe persuaded him to do it, or was it because she slept around and betrayed him?

Anyway it was different, and enjoyable to view. Dark and depressing, but a lot of good movies are that. The character Sketch was really creative, and I was glad that Stick joined him on his mission to his sisters.

Does anyone know if the soundtrack is available anywhere?

I Am Sam (2001)
Sean Penn played it as it is.
21 June 2004
Sean Penn was excellent in this movie. Mentally challenged people are loving and they get excited about things. When they get excited they get loud. They are the most loving of all people. My niece was born with a hole in her heart with Down's Syndrome and was just like this, until her death at 26 years old. It is a wonderful film!!!! I really didn't think I was going to like the movie, but I truly enjoyed it. Michelle Pfiffer really looked beautiful and it was refreshing to see the way Sam changed her attitude towards life, to a more loving, relaxed way. Little Dakota Fanning was gorgeous and so precious and what a great actress she is. I loved the film.

Identity (2003)
Yawn! Yes it reminded me of Psycho..but too gruesome.
8 November 2003
Why is Hollywood putting good stars like Ray Liotta and John Cusak in crap like this? How many times do they have to say the f word? Why is there so much gore in movies? This is nothing new...more shootings killings and sixth sense takeoffs...no thank you. Why did I rent this?

The Hours (2002)
Nicole Boreman dull city!!!
30 March 2003
She just can't act at all...she is so stoic, in Portrait of A Lady...she was so lifeless and dull......and in The Hours....I couldn't stand her she didn't do anything except have a little temper tantrum in the railroad scene.....I know she was supposed to be mentally ill...but even the ill act better than her dull interpretation.... Meryl Streep was and always is wonderful...as was Julianne Moore....a very depressing film....but was unique and an interesting idea....the lesbian theme was disturbinng.....I would rather see Chicago....

I'm A Believer
26 January 2003
Yep...it was a great movie....all kinds of twists and turns and the music I'm A Believer was by Neil Diamond...not by a country star...they played that too much.....otherwise the Coen Brothers had a very interesting start with this film......How young Frances McDermott looked..

Russell Crowe should have gotten the Oscar for this one.
1 July 2002
A wonderful film which Russell Crowe should have gotten an Oscar for. I can closely relate to this as I was married to a schizophrenic man...and the breakdown was really frightening......it takes a really strong woman to put up with a partner who has mental illness.. The music is beautiful and really helps the film with the various scenes. It is really worth watching and owning......
