Think this is a film that anyone can enjoy.
7 October 2021
This is a movie with a lot of heart! To start I got to give props for the cast and crew. This is the kind of film that anyone can enjoy, I know it is mainly targeted for kids due to being based on the book series of the same name, but adults can enjoy and get a good message out of it too. This film contains a message about kindness and bullying. Think kids today can really learn a valuable lesson after watching it.

I'm going to do my best to keep this spoiler free as much as possible, mostly just detail some things on the way the movie starts out.

The film follows Bernie Dingledorf played by Zackary Arthur, IQ played by Cooper J. Friedman, Lens Cap played by Shiloh Nelson, and Splat played by Tupac Souza. Bernie, IQ and Lens Cap are filming their own superhero movie, when a group of bullies confront them and end up sabotaging it. This causes Bernie to get depressed for not being able to stand up to those bullies and protect his friends as well.

In another part of town there is a group of clowns going around robbing stores for a candy bar called "Gooey Chewy Bar", that got sent to the wrong addresses by mistake. The leader of the clowns, Dr. Chuckles who is played by Ryan O'Quinn is developing a plan to take over the world, with an invention of his own creation that causes laughter and makes people play mean pranks on one another. Anyone that eats the candy bar is immune to the affects of it, which Bernie and his friends ends up getting enough for them after a crate of the candy bars falls out of the clowns truck, following the encounter with the bullies..

This is where an secret agent Agent 001/2 who is played by Paul Johansson is assigned to find Bernie and his friends. They may be the only ones able to stop Dr. Chuckles from completing his diabolical plan.

This sets the foundation of the film, leading Bernie, his friends and others on a silly humorous ride of unpredictable moments.

Some other mentionable things about the film is that it has a very special actress in it too, Darcy Donavan. You may have seen Darcy in films and shows like Anchorman, Parks and Recreation, Modern Family, and My Name is Earl, to name a few of her works. She plays Agent 001/2's love interest in the film. There is one of her scenes where Agent 001/2 is trying to hide her from his boss, who discusses the mission to him. It made me really burst out laughing.

I also wanted to give props to both Billy Dickson the director and Bill Myers the writer, for bringing this movie together and putting the kind of effort in the film that makes you want to go and pay it forward to someone after watching it. It has that kind of ripple effect about it, of positivity. Also mentioning Bill again another fun part of the film is seeing him appear in parts of it as little cameos/easter eggs.

As a final message on why I think you all should watch this film, besides just the good message about the film, there is a lot of heart, humor and silliness within it too. With the way things has been this year and last year with the pandemic and quarentine, this is the kind of family movie that can bring out your inner child and make you feel like a kid again. Its also a family movie that anyone can enjoy watching. God knows we can all use a few laughs right now, and this movie certainly delivers on that! Give it a chance, you will not be disappointed!

Kristin Chenoweth was the perfect choice for the second season, she nailed that role perfectly! So wished they would had been a 3rd season, so wanted more and to see how everything turned out. I always laughed from the guy waving the flags shouting, "Lady Driver". So hilarious!

Outstanding show and excited for the reboot!

It was such a shock when this show got cancelled. They were so many signatures on the petition for it. And ones thought for sure it would get picked up again. Finally we get that chance for the story to continue.

Kristin Chenoweth as Carlene was so much fun and I still get chills from that "Jesus Takes The Wheel" performance. Jennifer Aspen as Sharon was so much fun and so funny, even Miriam as Cricket and Mark as Blake was very entertaining. The cast was perfect and it was so special in every way.

Miss this show...

Such a fun show and wished it got to continue. Really enjoyed Kristin Chenoweth as Olive Snook. And Chi McBride was entertaining as well.

Just the creativity behind it and the narration reminded me of like a Dr. Seuss kind of world but with people. Swoosie did such a wonderful job too. As did Lee.

But in my opinion the star of the show was definitely Kristin Chenoweth by far! Just the love-strucken Olive and her love for Ned, even though he loved Charlotte, was just too much fun.

I wished we could had gotten to see an ending to it. To see if Ned and Charlotte was able to find a way to be able to touch one another and be together.

Timeless classic...

I love this movie, from going and watching it when it first came out in theaters, to buying it first thing as it was released on dvd. One of the most quotable comedy films of the 2000s in my opinion. Will Ferrell was so funny with some of his phrases and did a little improv in the film too which was fun. Same goes for the rest of the all-star cast.

One big thing about this film is, that I ended up acquiring a very dear friend to me that played in it. And still friends with her this very day. Her name is Darcy Donavan and she played "Sherry"/"Hot Blonde" in this film.

That scene of the movie she was in tagged the line that has been ranked as one of the top phrases from the film where Will said, "Well...hello...you pointed to your boobies."

A funny story too one that Darcy has shared many times is they wanted her to say something to him to throw him off and use as a blooper. And she did, but Will being Will fired something right back, haha.

I really enjoyed seeing Nathan Fillion and his date played by Darcy Donavan. Wished that part could had went on a little longer. Nathan is always funny and entertaining. Darcy is the same, a goofy, funny woman with a good heart and I really hope she gets those big roles she deserves, because she does have a lot of talent.

The trailer was amazing...

Been a fan of Darcy Donavan's for many years and the special thing about the film was she got to take us on set through her live Facebook and Instagram videos. And it even showed one part of a scene she began recording live. Darcy is very interactive with her fans and is an amazing and talented actress. She is definitely a star to watch this year and I know she has a lot of big things in store for it too!

The trailer for the film won the award for best trailer at a film festival. And its going to be fun seeing her range within this movie since she is mostly known for comefy roles. This movie being a thriller and her playing a detective in it is going to be a fun ride for sure!

So excited when the film does come out!
