Tropic Thunder (2008)
Waayyy better then expected
This movie Really exceeded my expectations. yes it wasn't a very serious movie, yes some there were parts where it seems the actors were just having fun, and yes; you will enjoy this movie. There are many great things about Tropic thunder First;the cast. you generally wont see this many stars in a comedy; Cruise, McConaughey, Stiller, Black, Downey Jr., and every single one of them does an impressive job. Plus, you can tell everyone enjoyed working together. Second;the action scenes. there flippin' great. normally a comedy would not have as many good or realistic scenes. so as an action comedy it really thrives. Third; stiller just made a good movie. the writing is quite good and is crammed with jokes that are quite witty (or in some cases the opposite) The bottom line is that this is quite an entertaining and funny movie that everyone is sure to enjoy.
Se7en (1995)
Amazing yet Awful
To be quite honest, i don't know what to give this movie. seldom has there been a movie i wished i could unwatch, and this is one. but never has there been a movie i wish i hadn't seen because of the degree of truth in it.
The acting in this movie is phenomenal; Pitt and Freeman really make you believe in their characters, which is the reason this movie is so terrifying. This movie makes the viewer confront the evils of society through the acts of a proclaimed "mad man." As you watch this movie you are instantly assumed into it, up until the point where you feel the pain of the characters.
This movie made me look at a world i didn't wan to see. It essentially sucked the joy out of my day, and i am forced to ponder who in their right mind could write a story with this degree of sickness. Yes it is a good movie, but i don't think it is necessary in a day and age where the pain in our world is already all too clear.
Whose Line Is It Anyway? (1998)
This Show Is Amazing!!!
OK, seriously, if you haven't watched this show, go sit in front of a television this second! Whose Line, is by far the best improv comedy show that has ever existed. With original jokes, amazing guest appearances, a fantastic cast, and brilliant presentation, this show is my ll time favorite.
The reason this show succeeds is simply because of the wonderful work of the four, ever present, people in this show; Drew, Colin, Wayne, and Ryan. All of the comedians/contestants get along with each other very well, and work together to create a half hour show that is guaranteed to have you laughing on the floor within the first five minutes.
Give this show a chance... i swear on my life that you will enjoy it!
The Dark Knight (2008)
Holy Crap
this movie is FANTASTIC!!! I came into this movie with extremely high expectations and when i left, they were completely surpassed. This is a prime example of how an action movie should be.
the action in this film is just plain amazing, it has an amazing storyline and (if its even possible) and even greater villain. i never was much of a fan of Heath Ledger, but god darn it if im not a fan now. never in all my years of watching movies have i been this in awe of a movie villain. his role as the joker will soon join a list of legends portrayed on screen
i dare you to see this movie and not like it. your chances are... "fifty fifty"
The Godfather (1972)
It was... OK
look i understand how many people love this film; good acting, pretty solid storyline, etc... but one thing that is also a factor is what generation of movie audiences it is geared toward. i am a teenager, and while i do love guns, killing, and all that good "teenage stuff" that is in this movie, many people of my generation do not take such interest in mafia thrillers. i feel that they are a thing of the past, and therefor i do not identify with this movie in the slightest, and basically, don't love it as much as many people seem to. Having said this, i actually liked goodfellas more then the godfather, not because of the mafia ties, but the struggles that the man character underwent; struggles that i can identify with. this was something "The Godfather" lacked.
again, its not bad... its just... OK
The Bridge on the River Kwai (1957)
amazing
i am a teenager; I'm 15. I'm also a lover of most action/adventure movies. i am however, not accustomed to liking movies that i consider "ancient." the only reason i really watched this movie, was because it was during summer break and my dad would only allow me to get what he considered a "classic" that week. boy was i amazed when i discovered what a classic really was. this movie appeals to just about any fan base; young or old, male or female, because of its engrossing plot line and fantastic acting. the action will keep you on the edge of your seat, while the plot will keep you glued there for fear of missing something. basically, this movie is just amazing
