Solid Western with that classic movie vibe
29 April 2018
I caught this on the Grit channel a few weekends ago and while I don't really watch Westerns, I really enjoyed this movie. I didn't know Kirk Douglas was around long enough to be in Black & White movies!

It's a solid movie with undertones of "obeying the law" vs "doing what's right".

A solid visual, but a weird movie, that unfortunately doesn't really end up anywhere...

While the movie is certainly worth a watch, don't be surprised if you're wondering what just happened by the time the credits roll. It's a very interesting concept, but I felt like it needed 1 more scene to wrap everything up.

Pure Awesomeness!
29 April 2018
I watched this episode first by accident (due to how my Netflix was setup), and I liked it so much I watched another 2 episodes right away :P

Without getting into to too much detail, I think the episode was a perfect example of the shows synopsis: "An anthology series exploring a twisted, high-tech world where humanity's greatest innovations and darkest instincts collide."

Robert Daly possesses the ability to do some remarkable things with the "innovative" tech that he has created, and he has gone one step further with his personal iteration of the tech. It would appear that his version was originally designed as a way to "get away" from the real world, but eventually evolved into a separate reality where he has taken on a bit of a god complex, and that is where his "darker instinct" shines through with those who don't play by the rules.

(Sidenote, perhaps if he worked with the crew to enjoy the experience, they might have actually got into it to...)

Absolutely FANtastic
18 October 2014
I have been a huge fan of Dracula since reading the book as a teen and yet I have never seen a movie do the lore justice.

Everything about this movie is fantastic.

It's believable, that Luke Evans could evolve to be the Dracula we know and love. His reasoning behind his actions add depth to the character.

The romantic aspect just adds to the story, and the way it wraps adds an extra layer to a very important character in the mythos.

The ending of the movie *perfectly* sets the stage for what should be an epic trilogy.

If you like Dracula, and or the Traditional Vampire lore, watch this movie.

Terrible
12 July 2008
Whoever cast a Fat guy to play Dracula should be shot. It just simply doesn't fit with the character nor the character description.

Though the basic plot outline sounds decent, but don't be fooled, it's 125minutes you'll never get back.

The special effects and sound effects are like that of a low budget 70's movie.

The movie itself plays out horribly slow. The majority of the acting in the movie is TERRIBLE. Not just bad, but cheesy-porno movie bad.(Most notably 'The Admiral's and (Big)'Dracula's overacting and the Coach Driver... he's just awful...) Kelsey McCann (Elizabeth)and Wes Ramsey (Bram) perform well however and are a bit of an exception. I actually expect to see more of Kelsey in the future.

DO NOT WATCH THIS MOVIE (Unless someone pays you to do it ;P)
