Falling for the Life of Alex Whelan (2023)
Out of budget? Why make this movie?
The story is about a young Chinese woman, of 27 years old, who studies journalism. She meets a man at a foreign language film club and after the movie they go to a pub to drink and talk. Later that night she noticed he accepted her friend request. The next day, when she checked his account, she saw the messages his friends left, that referred to him passing.
It had a nice story line. Acting is fine also. I actually liked the movie, until it abruptly ended after 27 minutes.
It raised the question if they perhaps were going for a full movie and ran out of money?
A movie should have an ending. A bad, good or open one. This one had absolutely no ending. I fail to see the reason why they would make this movie at all.
De twaalf (2019)
Brilliant series with unsatisfying ending
Everything was perfect. The writing, the atmosphere you felt during scenes and the acting. This series is a wonderful "long movie". This series is about jurors judging, but you will find yourself judging everybody the whole time.
So many professionals doing unprofessional things. That detective was a horrible human being. Almost all witnesses lying. The jurors not being objective due to own personal issues. So many good people doing wrong things and wrong people doing good things.
I deducted 2 stars because the lying of the witnesses did not make sense at all and proved the the defended not guilty. The witnesses including the professionals, who were anything but objective.
I was, at time, highly annoyed by people not speaking out or simply telling the truth. For instance the mother of 3 not telling her husband that "she did not have a choice to be a juror. It is
"mandatory".
I watched the last episode thinking most of the jurors were a bunch of idiots. But after the last episode I felt like I was the idiot.
I get the writers, and the writing was brilliant, until the ending. That didn't make sense at all.
Yakamoz S-245 (2022)
Series with exciting concept like Into The Night
I love disaster movies and I really liked "Into the night". The thought of a similar series, but with a submarine instead of planes, made me hit the "play" button with enthusiasm.
The first 2 episodes of Yakamoz S-245 were really fun and exciting to watch. But it's like the writers, director and executives thought "Let's go with this story line and we will wing it from there".
After episode 3 it became very predictable and the script became more annoying. I did watch all 7 episodes on a Sunday. I thought I might as well watch all, because something exciting might happen to get me back into the excitement of the disaster movie.
Unfortunately, after watching the last episode, I had to conclude that this was just a drama with annoying characters, filmed at night.
Santa's Slay (2005)
One of my favorite Christmas movies - Hilarious and Underrated
I could not believe the ratings for this movie. I totally disagree with the label "B-Movie". I mean, just look at the actors playing in this movie.
It's not really horror, as in scary. It's horror because Santa slays people and blood is involved. It's the kind of slays that made me laugh my butt off, and to me, this hardly ever happens in other movies.
This is a highly entertain-able movie I have watched several times. If you still have doubts watching this movie, based on the comments here, I suggest you watch trailers. You will get a pretty nice feel for what to expect.
I recommend it in Real Life to people, so I would like to recommend it to people online also.
If you have a sense of humor that is...
The Midwich Cuckoos (2022)
I never read the book...
... And I loved it.
It did remind me of the movie "Village of the damned" with the white haired children. I now realize that both these movies are based on the book that people are talking about in the comments.
This 1 season series has an ending, so it's a very long movie. It never get's boring or slow, so I totally recommend it.
Morden i Sandhamn (2010)
Beautiful scenery and great Story-lines
This is a wonderful Scandinavian Series based on books.
I binge-watched this and was utterly disappointed that Netflix didn't have the last seasons.
The filming location is marvelous. Summer on a beautiful Island archipelago.
The characters are very sympathetic and relatable.
The Story-lines are mysterious and most episodes with a very surprising outcome.
I'm totally hooked.
Hope Gap (2019)
Very boring Story
I started watching it for the promising scenery, and with such great actors, I thought I couldn't go wrong.
This movie is about 2 people who were married for 29 years and didn't connect anymore. She doesn't want their marriage to end, but he leaves her for another woman. In the end she accepts a life without him by her side.
I watched it till the end but with some fast forwarding. Nothing really happens in this movie. I thought at least a dozen times "what a boring story". Hence the title of my review.
Milton's Secret (2016)
I gave it 5 stars first, but came back to give it a ten.
The 5 stars were given because I expected more mystery and obvious miracles.
I came back because it's an excellent movie that will speak to a lot of "beliefs", including atheism.
This movie has a lot of valuable lessons in it, very suitable for schools to show this in class. This movie reminded me of the wave, very educational for kids and adolescents.
Nowhere Boys (2013)
Rating only for seasons 1 & 2
Usually i do not watch series that seems have teen playing the lead roles. This was a great show and i found myself in a real binge mood. It's especially interresting for people who found out about the parallel universes and question the nature of reality.
Very symphatic cast of teens and adults. I was very excited that i still had a season 3 & 4 to look forward to. How dissapointed i was to find a horrible season 3. I seriously gave it a chance, but really.... I hung on untill the half of episode 3 of season 3 and realized that i didn't want to force myself to watch any further.
Season 3 would make me rate this a 1 star...
