More Tomcat Tales (2023)
Worthy sequel to the original Tomcat Tales. Must see for F-14 enthusiasts
Yet another great movie from the Vizcarra brothers. A must see for any aviation enthusiast and especially F-14 Tomcat enthusiasts. The greatness of this amazing fighter is on display (as well as some tragic stories). Same engaging content as the first one with some amazing F-14 pilot stories including how a Tomcat RIO was killed by a Tomcat while not being in its cockpit. Yeah, it sounds crazy, but that is a real story. The length was 1:16 so it was much shorter than the first one, which was 2:00. Still, amazing movie and practically Vizcarra brothers can turn this into a series as there are so many great F-14 pilots out there with crazy stories that should be told. R. I. P Dale 'Snort' Snodgrass. Best Tomcat pilot ever.
Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens (2015)
Was bored out of my mind with all of the cheesy jokes
I did not enjoy this movie much. The locations were great, the visual effects were not bad, but that was pretty much it. The acting was abysmal and the storyline was non existent. Despite the title, the dark theme from the first 3 movies is not present here. The 3D was not great. It had the same cardboard cutout feel for all of the characters so it was not realistic at all (as expected since it was upgraded from 2D to 3D). The two leading characters did have some chemistry together, but it was still plagued with terrible dialogs and also the cheesy jokes even in the most intense action scenes. There is never any sense of suspense or danger in the movie especially when you see a girl about 5 foot nothing that weighs 100 lbs taking out 10 guys who are twice her size in matter of seconds.
The Dark Knight Rises (2012)
You would never want to watch Tim Burton or Schumacher's Batman movies. This trilogy defines Batman
Movie was absolutely brilliant. Christian Bale, Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman simply stole the show. Caine's human and emotional side adds a very humanistic element. He deserves to win the Oscar. Gary Oldman is as usual brilliant as well.
Tom Hardy as Bane was an excellent choice, but still nothing beats Heath Ledger as Joker. Overall, this movie even raises the bar on "Dark Knight", which was a tough act to follow, but Nolan did it.
Only weak point was Anne Hathaway. She is a terrible actor and somewhat goofy in her presence. She did not have the aura, presence and the mystery that Michelle Pfiefer was able to project. Add to that the ridiculous costume and she completely became a distraction and unwanted character in the movie, but Christian Bale and other great actors completely make her presence insignificant.
This trilogy really shows how a superhero movie is made. After "Batman begins", I was stunned at the interpretation, but now after all three movies, the Schumacher and Burton movies look like circus shows with clowns and bozos with goofy silliness compared to the depth, emotional element and sheer richness of characters while being very believable.
Batman Begins - 9/10 Dark Knight - 8.5/10 Dark Knight Rises - 10/10
Thank you Nolan.
