Mark Twain's America in 3D (1998)
I enjoyed this movie
The core of this movie is an archive of stereoscopic photographs taken in the latter half of the nineteenth century. A popular parlor toy in your Grandmother's day (or Great, Great Gandmother's for some of you) was the stereo photograph viewer. A stereo pair of photos on a card could be viewed through a pair of lenses -- one for each eye. Go to an antique store and ask to see one. That's why this is such a great idea for an IMAX movie. This is your only chance to see this lost art in it's original 3-D form. These 3-D photos really let you step into the past in a way no flat photo can -- you really feel you're THERE. The makers of this movie have done a wonderful job of wrapping these photos with narrative, live action, a wonderful score and a biography of Mark Twain (since they had two stereo pics of him).
