The Watchful Eye (2023)
Looking forward to see where they go
"The Watchful Eye" has proven to be a captivating mystery-thriller series in its first two episodes. The premiere episode sets the stage for the central mystery, as a young woman named Elena is hired as a nanny for a wealthy widower named Matthew. The opulence and grandeur of the Wards' estate, known as The Greybourne, is a stark contrast to Elena's humble background, and the secrets and scandals hidden behind the mansion's walls are soon revealed.
The second episode delves deeper into the mystery of the vanished previous nanny, as Elena begins to bond with the other nannies and starts her own investigation. The episode has a nice balance of both character development and plot progression, as Elena's relationships with the other characters grow and she uncovers shocking truths about The Greybourne and its residents.
The show's production value is high, with stunning cinematography that showcases the grandeur of The Greybourne, while also creating a sense of unease as Elena begins to uncover the dark secrets lurking within its walls. The acting is top-notch, especially from the lead actress who brings a great mix of innocence and determination to her role as Elena.
Overall, "The Watchful Eye" has the makings of a must-watch series for fans of mystery and thriller genres. The intrigue and mystery surrounding the vanished nanny and the Ward family keep viewers on the edge of their seats, while the captivating character dynamics and stunning production value only add to the appeal of the show. I'm looking forward to seeing where the story will go in future episodes and how the central mystery will unravel.
The Witcher: Blood Origin (2022)
Better than the Witcher.
At least they stuck to the lore.
It is actually in my opinion a better story than what they pulled out of the witcher. The writering does seem better and they actually stick to the witcher lore which is nice. If they spent a little more on production and had better fight choreography, better cgi, better cinematography, the show might not be getting review bombed. I think a lot of the reviews left here are because of the sour taste that "The Witcher" series has left in audiences mouths. They ruined arguably the best story that could have been told so people are of course a little pissed off at the executives.
Anyways 5/10 better than the witcher but could have been much better with a little more effort. Laurence O'Fuarain tried the best with what they had, im sure the other actors are the same. The acting doesn't feel that bad, im not sure why these other commets are so harsh.
Resident Evil (2022)
Not as bad as people say.
I'm a pretty big resident evil fan and have played all the games, watched all the movies. Really isn't as terrible as people are saying it is. I think people are upset that this has a story where most of the RE universe and games really doesn't have much of a story that builds upon the lore.
The Stand (2020)
Where is the character development?
It's so hard to get attached to anything that is happening, scenes just jumping around for no good reason. It's like a drama school project. I mean it's watchable but it's impossible to feel anything for any of these characters it feels like a teen drama on the WB.
