Few words will be enough...
4 May 2005
...this "movie" discredits Disney's name by revisiting classic Disney characters into a modern world and a modern computer-graphic. I Disney has decided to ride the wave of computer-graphic based animation. Toy Story (1&2) and Monster&Co were good examples of how to use modern techniques in the context of a good starting idea although I can't help thinking that art of animation the way I knew (and loved) has been certified dead by monstrous photo-realistic productions. But this...I'd say it's almost dis-educative for the young generations. I won't comment the technical side of this poorest production but the result is an awful experience that I could not even bring to an end, watching only the first 20 minutes. More than enough. Walt would have no peace if he knew what they are proposing under his name today...

The best Spaghetti-Western ever
10 November 2004
I am Italian and I have seen many spaghetti-western productions in my life. This movie is by far the best ever produced. The sequel is comparatively poor and not recommended. The two main characters work astoundingly well together and play at their fullest potential. A special mention to the "Mayor", for once a very likable "bad guy", and its irony. The movie is much stronger in the first half when it builds up tension and expectations. The first few minutes when Trinità is eating beans are simply legendary. The ending is. on the opposite of all other movies made by the couple, not really "happy" and I did like it. This movie mixes many ingredients together and the result is a wonderful and tasty juice. Recommended! 9/10

Hi tech movie with some faults...
7 March 2003
Minority Report didn't fully satisfy me. It left me with a bit of a bitter tongue when it ended, although some aspects were not of my taste during projection as well. I'd say this movie is very ambitious but fails to take off as it should. The frame is more important than the painting in this case. Cruise once more (Impossible Mission I, II, Vanilla Sky...) acts in one hi-tech environment having the most advanced (sometime not so practical-to-use and a bit hard to believe) structures and computers available for doing his job. Some good visual inventions don't just make up for the sometime leaking characterizations. The dialogs themselves seem not to be wonderful either (the greenhouse, the mall) but fair enough generally. The action sequences are as spectacular as you would expect with special care for the fight in the cars factory (I think courtesy of Kawasaky) and the plot captures you from the beginning showing a great potential. Unfortunately not completely fulfilled. It's still a good movie which might have been even better with some adjustments. Despite some flaws, it's recommended. A note: some people can speak Swedish, dear Mr. Spielberg! Would you mind telling me the reason of one traditional Swedish song for children (små grodorna) in the middle of the movie ? :) It was fun though...

An elegant fable
26 December 2002
Last Unicorn casts magic all around it. Not only Magic flows elegantly in the movie, it also creates a special, warm atmosphere for who are watching. A movie that will stun for the use of the colors, for the skilled animation and for the talent of the artists that "painted" the backgrounds. In the era of computergraphic, this is one of the classics that can express the real talent of people behind it who didn't need a keyboard or a Silicon Graphic station to render beautiful scenes which can never be different that hand made. The story is beautiful and it enraptures you till the end. The characterization works well and also the music by America does the job in a good way. Recommended.

Hilarious
29 August 2002
The funniest dialogue ever heard in Disney's animations. Only Mulan might come close but not quite. Technically speaking, nothing astonishing. The drawings of this modern productions are not comparable to most "classics" (especially The Dalmatians and Snowhite). Some characterizations are truly well done (the dull guy), some others very stereotyped (the witch). The only real bad is the first few minutes thanks to the very avoidable music sequence in full 70's style "Disco Fever" but it's just that. After this your mouth will just twist again for laughters and no more disapprovement. Highly recommended for every age.
