The French Dispatch of the Liberty, Kansas Evening Sun (2021)
Little Plot, Lots of Mumbo Jumbo
The heart and soul of the film, Owne and Editor of the quirky magazine, is lost in a blizzard of wordy dialogue and confusing flashbacks. Bill Murray's character is the most interesting part of the film, but unfortunately has the least amount of screen time. When he's on screen, it feels like the movie is back on and uninterrupted.
The film is centered around the Editor of the Dispatch , but sadly he's run-over by the scripts delirious attempt to be hip.
Ironically, the Editor of the magazine is always attempting to keep the articles simple, concise and heartfelt.
If only the movie script had been reviewed by the Editor in Chief of the French Dispatch, this could have been Anderson's greatest film yet.
The Matrix Resurrections (2021)
Beautifully Shot with Smart writing
The overall look of the film is in perfect contrast to the first films. The color and lighting in each scene look amazing.
The casting of the new crew seemed a little too young and clean looking.
The fight and action sequences were creative and fun.
An impressive work of art that I could only dream of creating.
Puppylove (2013)
Fantastic acting and cinematography
A wonderfully casted and acted film. Natural performances that make you feel like you are looking into the lives of the characters. Very well done.
Perfect (2018)
Trying to hard?
The film felt pretentious and focused more on trying to be artistic rather than focus on telling an engaging story where we care about the characters. I felt no connection to any character in the film.
I can see there was a lot of effort put into making this film, so I can appreciate the visual esthetic.
