College (2008)
Best weekend ever? Best movie ever!
College was one of the funniest movies I have seen in forever! My buddy took me to a pre-screening a few days ago and we laughed our asses off! I hadn't even heard of it, so I didn't know what I was in for, I just figured why not? But it was awesome! It was an hour and a half of super hot chicks and raging parties. It reminded me of Animal House, it was that good.
Three kids go off to check out their college and it turns into the craziest, "best weekend ever". I liked it better than super bad. Don't get me wrong, super bad was good, just not this good. College wasn't as kid-ish, much raunchier.
The Life Before Her Eyes (2007)
Emotional story
Never mind the fact that the cast was brilliant, the filming was beautiful and the transitions were flawless. The story itself was so well written. It has been quite a while since I have seen a film that has left such an impact. The cast did such a wonderful job of bringing you into this magnificent story. You leave with the feeling that it just happened to you, and you must immediately phone a friend to tell them about your experience.
The story is very tragic and it surrounds a real life nightmare: school shootings. However, from such a dark place, something brilliant was born...The Life Before Her Eyes.
Bigger Stronger Faster* (2008)
Shining example of a great doc film
This documentary contains all the needed ingredients for an awesome film: great subject, honest and objective, entertaining, great interviews. Being a big documentary fan, I am usually very critical of the films I see. For this one though, I can't think of a negative thing to say. It takes a sensitive, covered up issue and reveals all the dirty details with brutal honesty. No one seems to be holding back in this one. You will also find yourself understanding these people and although not agreeing with drug use, seeing them not as "users" or "addicts" but real people who have made some different choices in their lives. All in all this was one of the best docs I have seen to date.
