The Big Valley: A Passage of Saints (1969)
Breakfast at Tiffany's Ending
I saw this episode today on ME TV. I thought it was interesting at the end that when the younger wide decides to break up with her husband and sens him gently in his way, the scene was all but LIFTED from the scene where Audey Hepburn as Lulq May Golightly senda of Buddy Ebson as Doc Golightly and explains to him that she's grown up. I'm nor sure I'd this was a his to one od the greatest films of all time or simply a laY vehicle. I suspect it was intentional. As even the camera Angles were similar. The close ups. The facial expressions. Even the way rhe older man experts her decision leaving in his wagon instead of on the Greyhound.
It was suprising bu pleasant and amusing to see it. So out of context.
Anyway, if you happen to see it - see if you recognize the scene.
Oh, and extra irony, on this day 3/28/20 right after this episode was Bonanza and an episode from the second to last season where Buddy Ebson plays as guest star.
You Don't Mess with the Zohan (2008)
One of the funniest movies in a long time
I read some of the negative reviews and thought- are these people kidding? I saw this at the Arclight in Sherman Oaks- the theater was packed with all types of people at 4:50 on a Sunday and the laughter was out of control throughout the movie.
I remember thinking on many occasions that some of the scenes were among the most raunchy, daring, and "going for it" that I have seen in a comedy.
All the cameos were great- the characters were fantastic- I am from LA- and I can tell you that Sandler and Schneider and a lot of these guys were spoofing Israeli and middle eastern types who haunt LA and I'm sure New York. It was fantastic- The light hearted love story and can't we all get along message was handled appropriately and provided a sufficient vehicle to carry the rest of the story along= and that is so typical Sandler- think Waterboy.
The Smigal parts were hilarious- the women were dripping gorgeous- and for one clown here who had a problem with a cat scene-if you couldn't catch the homage to Steve Martin's Cat juggling bit- then just hang up your film viewing license- This was a great film and you should run out and see it this summer- in the theater- where movies are meant to be seen! Buy some popcorn and laugh your butt off- and don't think so much- just enjoy!
