Blank Check (1994)

Utterly Awful!
21 April 2003
Blank Check is easily one of the worst films of the nineties. The plot is completely pointless; its overtones of lonliness are pathetic. Do you really believe a twelve year old acting as a personal assistant for a millionaire could accomplish everything in this film, like buying a mansion for a mere $300 grand. The notion, let alone the bargain-basement price, will only be believed by the most gullible viewers. Please, respect your intelligence and don't watch this awful, awful film.

Symbiosis (1982)

Symbiosis was played at EPCOT's Harvest Theater.
19 February 2003
Symbiosis premiered at Florida's Walt Disney World park, EPCOT, in 1982, at the Land pavilion. Located at the Harvest Theater, this film was a gripping environmental documentary. It not only showed how man has damaged nature what also what man is doing to improve it. Symbiosis played from opening day, 1982, until January 1995. At that time, it was replaced by Circle of Life, a more humorous environmental film hosted by characters from Disney's The Lion King. Circle of Life can still be seen at EPCOT, but Symbiosis is history.

America, the Beautiful is surely missed.
18 February 2003
America, the Beautiful was re-shot in 1975 for the bicentennial. It played at the Circle Vision theater at Disneyland until 1984, when it was replaced by American Journeys and Wonders of China. When Disney decided to close Circle Vision, they played America, the Beautiful again for a final farewell. This was an excellent film that will be missed.

A classic circle vision film.
18 February 2003
This is a classic Disney Circle Vision 360 film. It was shot with a nine-screen, 360 degree camera, so that park guests could be completely surrounded with the scenes of America. It replaced America, the Beautiful at Disneyland and Walt Disney World in 1984. It played at Disneyland until 1996, and at Walt Disney World until 1994. Although the attraction was closed at Disneyland, it was replaced by a new film, the Timekeeper, at Walt Disney World. Timekeeper still operates today, although it is closed 95% of the year due to budget cuts. There are recent rumors that the film may reopen at Disneyland for the 50th anniversary. Only time will tell. Otherwise, it is a fine film that I miss very much.

Like O Canada!, this one needs un update.
18 February 2003
This circle vision film gives a rare look into Red China. It is very unique because it is narrated by the postumous poet, Li Bai. However, the film is hopelessly out of date. The scenes of Shanghai look extinct. There is hope, however. Currently, the film is being re-shot and updated. I cannot wait to see the new film when it premieres at EPCOT this summer.

O Canada! needs an update.

This is a nice Circle Vision 360 film. However, it is a bit outdated and the narrator has a ridiculous French accent. The scenes are breathtaking, and it is played in a relaxing, air conditioned theater at EPCOT. This is one that should not be missed.
