Utopia (2020)
An abomination
They've turned one of the most original riveting British dramas ever made into a terrible *teen show *. Great work amazon
Curb Your Enthusiasm: Happy New Year (2020)
The 10/10 reviews
Are much much funnier than anything in this absolutely dire episode. A once fabulous comedy is now an atrocious farce. I almost couldn't watch it.
Sex Education: Episode 1 (2020)
So so weak
Really terrible embarrassing nonsense compared to Season 1. Netflix have turned this once intelligent show into a must watch for stupid 13 year olds.
Black Mirror: Striking Vipers (2019)
The only Black Mirror episode....
That bored me to death. Totally predictable flat and uninspired.
Good Omens (2019)
Biggest disappointment in years
This ranged from bad to awful. The 'humour' either falls flat on its arse or is incredibly corny and hammy. Like a terrible 80s UK movie or sitcom. Michael Sheen, completely out of place among the old fashioned eye bulging camp rubbish, is the only good thing in it.
Family Guy: And Then There Were Fewer (2010)
Mystery Time
A 'mystery' episode. The real mystery however is why on earth this episode has an average of over 8 out of 10 from people. As 2 other reviewers have pointed out, there was virtually no humour in it. A direct parody of very dull 'mystery murders' means it was almost as dull and unimaginative as the genre it was parodying. The first 5 minutes was sort of quite amusing but then it went downhill from there. It was nice to see a 'widescreen' episode for once, but that was just about all there was to recommend about this one. Without any doubt this was the worst Family Guy episode I've ever seen. I didn't think it was possible for a series this great to have an episode this bad.
Family Guy: Three Kings (2009)
No more of this sort of thing
This is the least funny Family Guy I've ever seen. I suppose it depends if you like full on parodies. Which I don't. It's the laziest simplest form of comedy. Family Guy is usually way above that. Yes the show is full of short parody segments and references to various shows and films. But to make an entire show a parody of just Stephen King was tedious and indulgent and very lazy. It wouldn't have been so bad if the endless parody had been funny but it wasn't. As my wife said 'It's the sort of thing The Simpsons would do'. They can do much better than that. And usually do. Thankfully the rest of the series has been mostly superb.
Family Guy: I Dream of Jesus (2008)
A Unique episode
You know a lot of people think this one is one of the best ever episodes. I can understand why. I think it depends on your mood if you find the repetition of 'Bird is the word' hilarious or infuriating. I found it hilarious. But I can imagine people in a tired or irritable mood finding it grating. The perception of it being 'best ever' or 'worst ever' seems to hinge entirely on the opinion of the endless repetition of the song. For me the repetition goes from funny to annoying to even funnier again.
The episode is certainly one of the less 'clever' ones. Family Guy can't always be 'comedy for clever people' however. Sometimes it likes to be just flat out silly. And for sheer childish fun it is, whether for good or bad, certainly one of the most memorable episodes ever.
