Libre De Reir (2023)
The complexity of humans
I wasn't expecting this show to be as good as it was. It mixed Drama with laughter really well and presented real people serving time in jail. You develop an insight into the complexity of humans and how people that did crimes are actually just regular people that did mistakes with grave consequences.
I would not recommend watching this as comedy if you're into that type of mood. This is more like an anthropological, social documentary with comedy. The female lead, comedian Sofia Nino de Rivera is an excellent host of this show and one of the funniest Mexican comedians I know of. Definitely watch if you're into interesting rather than commercial stuff.
Cuando acecha la maldad (2023)
The synopsis doesn't do it justice
Please watch it. Ignore the misleading synopsis. I say it's misleading not because they're trying to mislead you, but because it actually sounds like a poor story but actually, the movie is quite good. I just recommend everybody to watch it because it does what it must do, which is entertain, scare you and not use the typical scare tactics of mediocre movies.
I was pleasantly surprised by the acting of everybody in this movie, the direction, the style, the photography, everything came together very nicely.
By reading the synopsis of the story, you would imagine this is a sucky movie, but it's not at all. He left me speechless at the end of it.
¡Que viva México! (2023)
An acid portrait of Mexicana
Each character in the movie is a symbol, an avatar of the many aspects of Mexico and it's people.
It feels like a dream, like a nightmare.
It uses cartoonish characters to make a point.
I don't think foreign audiences would be able to enjoy this movie as the language used and the symbols will be lost in translation.
Mexicans on the other hand will understand even tiny cameos of things and people in the movie.
This is not a subtle movie in any terms. Its very much in your face and it's better understood as satire.
I would like the director to make a movie about southeast Mexico, with actors from the area.
Fall (2022)
Awesome thriller, why the low 7 rate?
I was really and throughly entertained during the WHOLE movie which is not a common experience in most movies. This is a solid thriller that kept me on the edge of my seat. It's not a complex story at all. It's what you imagine it to be. Two girls trapped on top of that antenna. That's all. Simple premise. Great delivery.
You don't get this type of adrenaline in most movies these days. I went with my friends and all of us felt this movie is underrated on IMDB.
If you are looking for a nice time with friends at the cinema, please do yourself a favor and go watch.
I normally don't write reviews but I came here to correct the low scores.
Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)
Children's movie at best,, all movie cliches in one.
Adults: This movie offers nothing new in terms of story, FX, CGI, plot twists, etc... its devoid of any fun for adults besides the rapid action (that is, if you are into that)
Its probably a movie aimed at 8-17 year olds and its probably fun for them... GenZ will maybe enjoy the cliches because they have seen few of them before, but for millenials and adults, this movie is mediocre in all categories. Save your time unless you are taking your children to see it.
