StarStruck (2010 TV Movie)
Entertaining with some uninteresting characters
6 December 2012
I was trying to find another Geek Charming-esque movie to enjoy, but this one wasn't nearly as fun. The main characters seemed lifeless, and that's mostly due to the writing.

Jessica, the protagonist, is always moping around because her sister is said to be more popular and beautiful, while in reality Jessica is undoubtedly the prettiest girl in the movie. The conclusion was predictably sappy. However, I paused the movie halfway through, and later I was interested enough to finish it.

It gets a solid B-.

Geek Charming was better.

The Lamp (2010)
Surprisingly heartfelt and satisfying.
12 January 2012
I saw the IMDb rating for this picture (3.9!), and almost decided not to watch the film. Thankfully, it didn't stop me. This was a pleasant surprise.

The Lamp starts out pretty slow. You have the oft-used "funeral" beginning and a family grieving, fighting, struggling to re-enter life. I was getting a little weary.

However, the story took some surprising and satisfying twists. By the end, I was smiling and pleased with the movie. You won't finish it in a bad mood.

8.5 out of 10 stars.

I LOVED this movie! It was exciting, filled with good lessons, emotional and I enjoyed every second of it.

Warning: Spoilers
I haven't read the books, so I can't say exactly how true it is to the original story. As a film, it was very enjoyable!

Eustace's journey from a bratty little kid who's never lifted a finger into a courageous, brave and loving cousin was superb. By the end, you can't help but root for him.

There were A LOT of scenes that basically just circled the ship (10?). It felt like the movie kept trying to make you say "wow!" The ship is gorgeous, nonetheless. Oh, and I would've liked a longer running time.

I don't care if the movies differ from the books, as long as the general time line is upheld. Therefore some of my favorite scenes aren't actually in the books. The scene with Susan and Peter was very well-done!

Honestly, without the seven swords and the Dark Island mist, the movie would've been boring. Finding seven old guys with big beards just isn't my idea of a thrilling motion picture. Finding their powerful swords, laying them at Aslan's table, destroying evil and freeing the missing people is exciting.

In general, I LOVED this movie! It was exciting, filled with good lessons, emotional and I enjoyed every second of it.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Almost as good as The Lord of the Rings, almost
23 December 2008
Warning: Spoilers
Though not as good as The Lord of the Rings itself, I really liked this video, it is probably my favorite of the VeggieTales series, along with The Wonderful Wizard of Ha's (I seem to like VeggieTales spoofs). There are some very cute parts of this film, and very good analogies to The Lord of the Rings, and it has a very good ending.

The story ends with the Veggie-version of Frodo, Todo, who saves the poor city people from starvation and drought, through the power given to him buy the magic Bean. This was a very good ending, with a lot of real-life meaning, to a good and humorous story.

I recommend this for everyone.
