Nobel Peace Prize Concert (2002)
Well, it wasnt Norway it was placed...
The Nobel Prize is a Swedish "invention". The inventor swedish inventor Alfred Nobel, the inventor of the TNT, was the founder of this prize. At the time when this prize was created Norway was a part of Sweden (we owned Norway) and the peace prize then was delivered in Oslo. However, now you know it. The Nobel Prize comes from Sweden, and nowhere else!
An angry Swede...
Uncle Sam (1996)
It is bloody, it is fiction, it is american, it is horrible!
Warning: Some spoilers for those who wish to see this garbage.
The worst film ever! I have seen many films in all my days, but this was particulary horrible. It was unprofessionaly done, it had no glamour in any of the scenes, it seems like no one wants to care whatever they making a movie or just reading their lines. The beheading of the boy jumping around in a sack is so obviously faked. For god sake, the head looks like a pice of painted plastic! I hope this will never be remade, none trying to copy!
The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (2002)
Incredible...
This movie is even better than the first. With more spectacular adventure lines and a perfect chance for Elijah Wood to show that he IS a good actor. He now is faced before the treacherous might of the ring. He shows jealousy, anger and obsession in a way he never been able to show before. The special effects are made so that the story wont be based on them. The fight at Helms deep is amazing and will be written into history as the most extended and the most realistic (so realistic it can be when 10 000 Orcs invades an immense keep against 500 men). None of the effects look especially computer made. The funniest character of them all is Gimli (the dwarf) that always have problems due to his length. See it, but don't expect that every line will be based on the book. The story is suited for a movie, not a book. But it feels very Tolkien, thats for sure.
Das Boot (1981)
Well, Nazis has feelings too...
Not only the British and the French was taking pain of war. This movie shows the terror of being trapped under sea in a submarine that easily will drown them slowly, and that the Germans had feelings too. All very new warfilms about the WWII is very one-sided and only cares about "the poor Americans". Well the Germans had choosed Hitler, and Hitler choosed War. Of course, those bloody Nazis was misslead by one of the worst and greatest dictators (and tyrant) ever encountered in history, so an interesting subject is taken in this wonderful movie. Who is evil? Is it the countrymen (the real Patriots, not always the soldiers), the Country or the man leading it. Well, thank god communism was gone forever in Germany after this, but the question is what is worst. Hitler or Communism... But by playing with the feelings of the soldiers, this movie is in its rightful place. Belonging at the top 100! But, it has a hard time too show the pain of the British soldiers and keep telling that the high leaders are the crooks. No, no, no. It is man that is the crook! 8/10
Blazing Saddles (1974)
Culture, if you love movies you must love this one!
Mel Brooks has shown us what comedy should be. A wonderful parody with western theme that both tells us about the racism and the violence mentioned in history (and in western movies). Wonderful acting, fun jokes and a great story (stealed by someone of course). Its a shame it doesn't fit in the 250# best films, not the best of 100 maybe, but it is good enough to be mentioned in there. In Sweden we names all Mel Brooks parodies by "Det våras för..." and means "Watch out for...". This one is called "Det våras för Sheriffen" and translated: "Watch out for The Sheriff". Brooks have begged us stopping it, however it is a name of quality that tells you "here is a Brooks film". We will continue do it, but we have also a sub name...
9/10
Schindler's List (1993)
"sometimes movies are needed to make people open their eyes"
This movie shows why people need to understand each others behaviors. Culture colissions have been reason to many traumatic events in history and this is a film showing what will happen. By just showing when Nazi soldiers shoots a jewish worker through the head because of this old mans culture and his handicap (one arm) gives people a hint of the cruelty that enrages when misunderstanding takes place. Seven Spielberg is a master of filmproductions and shows that sometimes movies are needed to make people open their eyes. The story is great, and it's special effects too. This beutifull masterpiece also is filled out by John Williams fantastic score that touches your heart. If you don't like this movie (or find it boring) you do not have any compassion to fellow man. A movie like this, entertaining and a lecture, is hard to find. It is one of the best movies ever. 10.
