Just my opinion
23 March 2024
I wanna start my review with saying this show may have been on before my time but thankfully for reruns I've got to watch every episode. I love this show I watch quite a bit, with that said the older I get I realize my opinion changes on the show. After Mr. And Mrs. Roper left the whole show changed it was missing something maybe the motherly figure in Mrs. Roper, then Chrissy left which to me wasn't that big of a loss after the addition to Terri who had her ditzy moments but wasn't your typical dumb blonde character which let's face it can be overdone. John Ritter has to be one of the funniest actors of all time, even the way he moves is brilliant. Joyce DeWitt is fantastic as Janet. Suzanne Somers was great in the first few seasons and later she became like a cartoon. To me Norman Fell was a comedic genius. Audra Lindley and her delivery lines and facial expressions brilliant. Richard Kline with John Ritter was a great comedy duo, although Larry wasn't the best friend to Jack. Don Knotts as Mr. Furley was sometimes over the top but it worked. Jenilee Harrison was okay as Cindy I feel like they didn't give her a chance. To me Priscilla Barnes as Terri was perfect she had the best facial expressions. Lastly Ann Wedgeworth as Lana was a waste of her talent they should have had her as Mr. Furleys wife or something.

A Classic
13 May 2022
I absolutely love Mamas Family it's been one of my favorite shows all of my life but now with reruns on Logo I look at this show differently, Mama really wasn't a good person she was always talking down to her family blaming them for everything that's went wrong in her life when most of the time it was her fault. I love this show don't get me wrong.

Brilliant

Warning: Spoilers
Not sure why I haven't left a review on this yet. I remember being around 8 or so when I first watched this movie. Absolutely one of my favorites all these years later. Chrissy is my favorite of the young girls which is odd because I'm a huge fan of Christina Ricci and Thora Birch. But Ashleigh Ashton Moore was just wonderful as Chrissy the scene in the cemetery where the lightning strikes still cracks me up to this day I laugh just as hard just like I did before. What a sad ending to her life.

My Absolute Favorite
4 June 2021
I'm not sure why I haven't left a review for this gem yet. This has been my favorite movie ever since I can remember as a kid I could quote the movie from beginning to end lol and still can.

Olympia Dukakis was absolutely brilliant choice to play Clairee, her gossiping and throwing shade with Truvy was just delightful.

Daryl Hannah as the religious Anelle was also perfect. Nobody could have played her the way Daryl did.

Julia Roberts as Shelby this is probably my favorite character she's ever played. Her relationship with M'Lynn was just wonderful. I also love how all the women just loved Shelby.

Shirley MacLaine as Ouisa just wow. Shirley can play anything but mean old Ouisa is her best.

Country singer Dolly Parton as the hairstylist Truvy was perfect. Her quotes are my absolute favorite.

Sally Field I really like her in this movie I really like her. Sometimes I don't like her on movies but as M'Lynn she was perfection.

The ending
22 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
The ending did it for me I liked it up until the end then it was just so stupid I got pissed off and hated the film. It would have been better for Grace to have killed everyone. The ending was just dumb.

Don't waste your time.
25 August 2019
I finally watched this attempt of a movie first of all I'll say not mentioning Carol Potter, Douglas Emerson or James Eckhouse was ridiculous. All three were original cast members. I felt like I was watching "I Hate Shannen Doherty" movie instead. I get she had problems back then but I don't think it was as bad as this movie made her to be.

Now on to the cast the person who played Aaron Spelling needs to stick to voicing Homer Simpson his voice was way off for Aaron. The actress who played Gabrielle Cateris wasn't the right fit she look really to be the same age as the rest of the cast and I'm pretty sure I saw in interviews she wasn't easy to work with either. The guy played Ian Ziering was absolutely horrible. The actor that played Brian Austin Green didn't look anything like him. Luke Perry, Jason Priestley, Jennie Garth and Shannen Dohertys looked similar and I won't even get started on the actress who played Tori Spelling. I had a lot of issues with the actors none did them justice.

Hoping for season two.
15 August 2018
I almost didn't watch because of the reviews this has gotten. Especially about the last episode but I'm so glad I watched. I kept finding myself torn between routing for Patty (Debby Ryan) and realizing she's a horrible person. Dallas Roberts was great as Bob Armstrong I loved him in this. It was also nice seeing Alyssa Milano and Christine Taylor. My crush for Christopher Gorham grew extremely high after this. I'm hoping for a season two. Screw what critics say this show was a hit.

Not bad at all
6 June 2018
I bought this movie today after deciding not to listen to the reviews I saw on here and I'm glad I did. It wasn't the best movie but not the worse movie either. The book is way better. Oprah Winfrey was great in this film. Storm Reid hopefully will go to do amazing things after this film. Chris Pine was good as Megs father. Mindy Kalling as Mrs. Who was cute, Deric McCabe did great as Charles Wallace and Levi Miller stood out as Calvin, now for Reese Witherspoon's performance one word great I loved her in this film.

A Gem
13 March 2018
One of my favorite movies. It's been awhile since I've seen this but Amy Wright, Tess Harper, Beau Bridges and Beverly D'Angelo are amazing as these characters and Patrika Darbo as Marlene is perfect. Momma Wheelis is probably the best character on the whole film.

It was okay
13 March 2018
Watched it tonight on YouTube it wasn't awful but it wasn't great. Great cast. Annelle seemed to be more ditzy than she was in the film kinda reminded me of Charlene from Designing Women. M'Lynn seemed a little weak. Truvy was to harsh. Clairee and Ouisa was okay. Drum seemed too young, Jackson actually was a good fit.
