Interstate 60: Episodes of the Road (2002)
I enjoyed this movie
I am surprised I have never heard about this film. I became aware of it when I saw one of the YouTube shorts. It seemed interesting and I decided to give it a chance. I am glad I did. The movie was interesting, funny, and dynamic enough for me to never pause it and just see it all the way through, which is something that rarely happens. I liked the characters and actors' performances. There is a bit of a morale in the movie, so I think I may rewatch it with my son. This was an easy watch, light, humorous, and entertaining. Christopher Lloyd's and Gary Oldman's characters were my favorite. Recommended!
Echoes (2022)
This has to be a joke
How stuff like this makes it through all control points and ends up as content anywhere is hard to understand. The show is just bad. Silly plot, no character that can be seen as relatable. Slow, boring, narration in first episodes is annoying.
Plots with twins switching and confusing others have been done many times and they are rarely good. This one was no exception. Women characters are weird, guys are even weirded. Their actions and decisions are one dumber than the one before.
I was hoping for it to become better and wanted to see it through, but I should have cut my losses when I felt like this show was going to be garbage.
Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022)
Overhyped
I went to see it because of the hype and reviews like "near flawless movie". I found this film to be boring, predictable, silly and unoriginal.
To me there were too many parallels to The Matrix: Jumping between the worlds, regular people turning into "agents", downloading skills, love will save everything, etc..
The childish fraternity-style sexual humor was not funny and seemed unnecessary.
Switching between English and Mandarin was annoying. I get it. They are family of immigrants, so thick accent explains it fully. Why do you need to switch to Mandarin with English subtitles? It's distracting.
.Way below expectations.
What/If (2019)
Silly, drawn out, boring
I decided to try this show because of Renee Zellweger was in it. I had some nostalgic memory of her from long ago. The first episode was somewhat intriguing even with the silly dialogue and so-so acting. But then the dialogue gets sillier, characters get themselves into progressively stupider situations, acting is strained like some armature theater, sex scenes add nothing to the storyline. Not one character I can relate to or feel for. Thankfully it's only 10 episodes long. I'm thinking that content like this is the real reason behind Netflix's troubles.
Deep Water (2022)
Just terrible
No one reasonably relatable character. Loose wife, jealous husband who for some dumb reasons still tolerates her sleeping with a bunch of men, multiple men who sleep with a married woman, idiot friends and neighbors. Boring movie, stupid plot, uninteresting acting. I started watching it solely because of Ana de Armas in it, and every minute I hoped that it would become interesting, but ugh... it has no redeeming qualities. This is a terrible terrible film.
Cosmic Sin (2021)
Boring slow terrible - would all be compliments
I watched it because of Brice Willis being in it. Was hoping for something fifth-elementish. This movie is extremely boring with uninspired plot, bad dialogue and very slow progression. It's a waste of time which could have been spent watching any other movie. This movie is just awful.
Gunpowder Milkshake (2021)
Bad version of John Wick
Action scenes are ok but movie is slow and uninteresting in between. Boring dialogue and characters. It tries to be like John Wick or Terminal or Sin City but it is nowhere as well done as those movies.
The Invisible Man (2020)
How can it be so terrible??
The story itself is over 100 years old and there are multiple movie attempts but this one is so boring and uninteresting.
Bad Trip (2021)
Maybe it gets better after 11 min, but that's how far I've made
I usually like silly comedies, but I turned this one off after 11 minutes. I would have turned it off sooner but my hands were dirty and I didn't want to touch the remote. Maybe it is awesome after the 11th minute but before that... ugh...
Savages (2012)
Narration completely ruins this mediocre movie
I didn't really feel for any of the characters. I never cared for Blake Lively or Salma Hayek and didn't like them in this movie either. The love story between the two guys and the girl was not believable, as no background was provided.m, so it is just weird.
Benicio Del Toro is great as always. The action was entertaining, but overall the movie was not interesting. The lazy Blake Lively's narration ruined the movie for me completely.
Coming 2 America (2021)
This was unfortunate
My son and I recently saw Coming to America and were excited when the sequel came out. Unfortunately, Coming 2 America is nothing like the original. It is not funny, the plot is not interesting. In my opinion this is sequel not only doesn't live to the expectations, but also is not even good in its own.
Ava (2020)
Ugh
After watching Molly's Game I had high hopes for Ava. This movie was bad. Plot is really dumb. Unbelievable characters. Mostly boring. A couple of good fight scenes but overall thumbs down.
Wonder Woman 1984 (2020)
Not only it is bad, but it is also long
Dumb plot, bad special effects, uninteresting dialogue, long and boring. My wife wanted to see it, but no one in the family liked the movie. I gave it 3 stars because there are worse movies, but on the thumbs up / thumbs down scale, it is the latter.
Billy the Kid (2013)
Wooow
It is ridiculously bad with no redeeming qualities. Why did Hulu recommend it to me? What have I done?
The Spy Who Dumped Me (2018)
It's pretty bad
I expected action and comedy, but the movie is not funny and action is lame. Kate McKinnon was in her Justin Bieber from SNL character with weird facial expressions and overdone acting, perhaps that's how it was intended to be because her character is "too much". To me, the acting seemed pretty bad all around. Action, other than the restaurant shootout scene and the car chase, was not interesting. I watched it on Hulu for so can't ask for my money back.
Bangkok Dangerous (2008)
Rented for free and feel like I overpaid
This is my first review. I registered on this site specifically to write it. That's how bad this movie is.
I notice that on this site Bangkok Dangerous is rated 5 stars out of 10. I think, critics are too generous. Some reviews that correctly state that this is a bad-bad-bad movie still score it 5 stars. Why? I am giving it two stars because I do not want it to be #1 from either end, as in "it is so bad that even in a Worst Movie competition it would take the second place".
There are several reviews explaining in detail why it is bad - too dark, slow, stupid "love" scenes, no dialog for extensive periods of time, supposedly skilled hit-man unable to hit target. In the boat chase scene the bad guy has better luck shooting even though he is steering the boat AND shooting while Joe The Bad Ass Assassin is just shooting.
In any case, for me it set the low benchmark. Now I can say "Well, it's bad, but at least it is not as bad as Bangkok Dangerous."
