an interesting and more than that a real story, but really bad directed
the film is about the newspaper ozgur gundem(free-liberal agenda a.k.a in Turkish), which was printed in years 1992-1994 in the eastern turkey, which had conflict with the Turkish government and right wingers, because of the side it supports(kurdish rights).
although as my critic title suggests, that the story and the plot is really interesting, the way this film directed is not really promising and amateur. I'd say acting is fine in this film, but choices of plans, scenography, visual story telling fails in many different levels. on the other hand the script of the film also had few problems and especially the thing I hate most in these kind of stories happen here as well: bad people are indeed really really bad and good people are really really good people without flaws.
film on screen looks mostly rather theatrical sometimes and mostly documentary style, but you can tell that the way director wanted to put the story is fiction. that itches a lot in this film.
if you want to experience the kurdish side of turks vs kurds conflicts (not turks vs pkk- a terrorist organization-) it's worth a shot to see this film, since there isn't anything like this film for the kurdish side of these issues.
