The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974)
Best horror film ever
I watched this film again last night for the first time in 12 or so years and I was blown away.
Best horror film ever. It shows a remarkable consistency in its logic (I think this film is a vegetarian statment :-)
Obvously the acting is a bit wooden by the dynamics of the murderous family is completely believable. I also found the plot to be believable too.
As an exersise in terror it gave me a feeling of Clive Barker like degredation, by which I mean very good :-)
I haven't seen the remake yet but I am interested to see how much they maintain the integrity.
Kung Pow: Enter the Fist (2002)
Really really f'ing stupid (but fun)
Judging by the votes for this film you will either love it or hate it.
I thought it was great.
The closest thing I could compare it to is Zoolander, just for the fact that it is so silly.
I was pretty ripped when I saw it and p*ssed myself laughing.
If your in the right frame of mind (maybe a few beers would help :-) you really should enjoy this film.
The Master of Disguise (2002)
rubbish
I saw this film yesterday with my 7yo son, and it is rubbish.
I get to see a lot of kids movies and I usually can get a laugh or two but this was amazing for it complete lack of humour.
Don't see it it will only encourage them to make a sequel :-)
Dirt (2001)
Great little film
Don't believe the rating above 4.7 ???? read the other comments this is a great little film.
It has a real deadpan pacing and a lovely dark edge, but when it came to the redemption it didn't seem t forced. Why can't more American films be like this?
The Perfect Storm (2000)
Perfectly Awful
This has got to be one of the worst strung together films I have ever scene. With some characters given a trite and overlong "background" and others just appearing halfway through the movie is just the start.
Spoiler??
This film is "based on a true story" but given that the truth is that there was a Really big storm and a fishing boat didn't come back its not really much to go on, plot wise.
The score achieves one thing that surprised me. Being even more Awful than john Williams.
I can't really complain about the acting but what a dire film.
