Reminiscence (2021)
Global warming warning masquerading as a bad movie
I normally love Hugh Jackman, but this movie was almost unwatchable. It was slow, predictable and the setting made no sense, unless you were trying to say "Global Warming and Capitalism BAD".
Do yourself a favor, and don't see this movie, so you wont have to reminisce on how bad it was.
Uncut Gems (2019)
This is like watching a hyperactive child who has been given Redbull!
This movie was like being subjected to a family gathering with your hyperactive nephew and his foul parents. All you wanted to do was LEAVE. Which we did. Walked out of the theater because it was just an episode in beating the audience to death with frantic pacing, abusive volume, and characters you could care less about! I didn't wait for the party to be over to complain, I left early!
Bad Boys for Life (2020)
Best of the series
Great plot and story. Some big surprises. Of course the bad guys can't hit the broad side of a barn while our heroes can hit anything they want to.
Rocketman (2019)
A Bit Mottled...
While the acting and singing were excellent, I was confused as to if this was supposed to be a movie with music or a musical.
Overall, it was a very stark and interesting story. I give EJ great credit for producing a movie that showed himself "warts and all." That was probably cathartic, but still painful.
My wife loved it, I was of the "take it our leave it" mindset.
The costuming was FANTASTIC, better than the original outfits. I was surprised that an extended sequence used the song Pinball Wizard by the Who, instead of some other piece by EJ. Yes, I am fully aware of EJ's role in Tommy. I just thought that they could have chosen an EJ piece for the sequence.
So, while I wouldn't say "rush out and see it." It is better than a lot of the other films.
Battle Creek (2015)
Loved this show
I was sorry to see this was canceled. The stories were light but interesting and the writing was tight.
Beirut (2018)
An old style spy thriller
Ok, the plot device of Once rising star falling into alcoholism because of tragedy in life is a little overplayed. But the movie doesn't work it has a lot of twist interns to it my main complaint about the movie is that sometimes the dialogue is almost unintelligible.
Entourage (2015)
Loved the show, loved the movie
As noted elsewhere, if you didn't like, or have never seen, the series, I don't think that you will get much out of the movie.
I don't know if this is a "spoiler" but the fact that the movie picks up 9-10 days later and it is now 2015, didn't bother me. Afterall, Entourage was never about hard fact reality.
It was a good Entourage script and I enjoyed all the cameo's. I especially enjoyed all of the old characters making return appearances.
It was light, frothy and fun! Didn't exactly expect the end, but as soon as it began, I knew what the 'final word' would be! Well done! My wife asked me why I was laughing. My response was because it was just perfect.
