Love Lies Bleeding (2024)
Very Satisfying
Since it is a rare occurrence when I finally find a movie that is not anime, that has some cool relatable female leads and it is just FUN to watch. Without an obvious message - girl power, girl boss, or some other superficial sh...stuff.
It is an essence of entertainment for me. This is the reason, I still watch movies sometimes. This is relatable and this is not cringe. It is what it is, without forcing itself on you. Plot is simple, plot is fun. Revenge is SATISFYING. It is a body I admire, it is a body I prefer, it is a body I love.
I didn't quite get the fantastical moments, but I guess it made sense from a perspective I failed to see. I will watch it again.
Poor Things (2023)
every time hollywood attempts at being 'edgy'
Looks like someone did a european cinema binge and frankensteined a bunch of stuff into...this. Whatever this is. :D
If it's not there - it's not there. It just isn't. What was suppose to be there again? Soulless and pointless, unless it was the point. And not even smart.
What it is - high quality, expensive production with good-ish acting. Although, yet again, soulless. Ironically, still very much closed minded in all its weirdness. Predictable in all the high tension moments.
A comedy indeed, in a way. American joke. :D
In fact - it'd be fascinating if it turned out to be made by an AI. Now that would make it much more interesting.
The Guild (2007)
One of the kind.
Watching this in 2019. And, yes, this one is one of the kind. Even if you never played MMORPGs before (you might not get a word, or two, but context won't be lost). It's not a sitcom format(thank god! we don't need Big Bang Theory..in fact, who was first:chicken, or the egg? Answer - The Guild. I guess, Big Bang was nicely inspired...).
This was made 10 years ago and back then it was ahead of it's time AND on time. So THANK YOU Netflix for picking this little gem now! It's about time :)
La Frecuencia Kirlian (2017)
Atmospheric
I have not yet finished the series, but as far as goes..it goes. I like the very fact that you can listen to it as if it's a podcast, but, of course, visuals are additional sensors and are recommended.
It is very unique, slow paced. Kind of loose ends all over. But it is very atmospheric. Amazing for rainy day, or night, or any night, really.
Enjoy it, don't rush it.
Love, Death & Robots (2019)
Wowers. This one is fantastic!
Ok, I am on 4th episode now and let me tell you, each episode will make you feel all kinds of different emotions! This is incredibly well made. Don't rush it, though,or do rush it...whatever. I'll miss it when I'm finished watching. That's the only regret!
Futuristic mind-blower. Yay! Thanks Netflix for this recommendation.
IO (2019)
Beautiful. Smart. Simple.
I came across this one, as it was in my recommendations on Netflix. Never heard of it, just started watching. It's a steadily paced one. Filled with hope and love for humanity. A rarity these days. A rarity I enjoyed watching.
Mars: Contagion (2018)
Very good dramatic episode
Unfortunately, it's still a man's world. Yeah yeah yeah. Yes. Rich man's world. Old news.
If this episode will trigger you one way, or another, it's because you know it's not quite not truth.
Safe drama choice. Too safe. But still a good episode! Great acting.
Mars: We Are Not Alone (2018)
Reminded me why I REALLY hate humanity
This episode completely made sense, so familiar. We are far from eradicating real humanity threats, who walk, breathe and live among us, right beside us. Parasites. That mentality is so old, so part of us... We are bound to fail, no matter where we go. We are quite basic mammals deep inside in the end.
Killing Eve (2018)
What a Ride!
I'll keep it short and simple. No spoilers.
If your sense of humor is intact and you enjoy the dynamics between characters - you'll love it, I promise.
I'd like to call it psychological thriller, but I ended up laughing at so many scenes and it wasn't even a guilty pleasure. I felt no guilt - this is how healthy this humor is.
Keeping in mind - it's not a comedy. Is it indeed psychological ..something. And it's brilliant!
Hold the Dark (2018)
Unnecessary
I'd like to say it was atmospheric movie, but somehow it wasn't. It gave a slight sense of isolation, which was fitting. Although, the long unnecessary scenes probably used to build tension just did not work as it wasn't a horror movie. As well as unnecessary characters..
Acting was exceptional, great cast. Each character substituted for the lacking 'feel' of the picture.
All in all, yes, I will use this word again - unnecessary movie, but if you've got nothing to do and plenty of time AND you like the actors, who acted in this movie - by all means watch it. Actors will not disappoint!
Star Trek: Discovery (2017)
Boring. Where are the stories? Characters? Relationships? Funny stuff?!
Boring. I'll rather watch Voyager all over again. 20 years ago some things were still right.
I tolerate Michael only because of her character in TWD... Ash is exactly as dumb as he looks. Unbearable to watch. I live in London and these wankas are on every corner. NOT a single CHARACTER was found. They all seem dead inside. The redhead might as well be from Grey's Anatomy. I love GA, this was not suppose to be GA.
It's just isn't a good show, not to mention that they used the known title, without knowing what to do with it.
If you want to do things your way (oh so very original), at least don't steal the name of something that was already done and done well! You will fail(as 7of9 would say). As many other did, lately.
How is it possible to manage and screw up almost everything lately?! Skills...
