Guzaarish (2010)
A Guzaarish... For an understanding.
The movie opens up with a paralyzed man and a beautiful nurse, and you already sense that this will be different than most bollywood crap that we are fed. This movie is about, doing the right thing. About the ethics of the society and the laws of government. About a man who has been refused to be relieved so that we can be served as a 'role model' for the rest.
Ethan Mascarenhas, A magician, paralyzed due an accident (due to a betrayal). He has been living this life for 12 years, and now, Elvis wants to leave the building of life; and there are others who question his judgement, without knowing how it feels. How a man trapped in the box of paralyses, who can't move even a inch of his body for 12 years feels.
But it is more than about just Ethan, it is about 'the right to live, the right to die'. Who decides what is best for everyone, and on what basis?! People don't come to world with their own wishes; No child is asked before being born that if he wants to face the world or not, but to leave, that is in the hands of that sane person in that child, and if a grown person sanely wishes to leave this world, on which no other live depends directly. Why shouldn't he be allowed?!
Sanjay Leela Bhansali Sir's directing is grand, astonishing, and at a very high class. Each scene is beautifully done, and grasps the emotion of that situation. Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai both (well they are superstars afterall), did amazing work. Especially Hrithik has really able to put the life in Ethan's character. Aditya Roy is charming young magician, good act, if able to keep it up, there's a next superstar.
Overall, it is a movie to experience, reading about it won't even give you dust of the feelings it posses.
Det perfekte menneske (1968)
A piece of art
At first moment when I turned on this film, I didn't had any idea of what to expect, Even though I did heard about it (that's I watched it at the first place). But after I watched it, I was kinda stunned of the artistic visualization of this movie. It is beautiful, simply. Many people might not like it as many won't understand it, but if you can, Do watch this movie. It is a reflection of pressure from the society and others to a person for the idea of 'The Perfect Human', which is according to me, completely irrelevant. The ideas like 'The Perfect Human', 'The Idol Band', etc. are just sentences, and thus not an statement, ideas like this might be right for one, and wrong for the other. Your idea for the perfect life for a person, might not be right according to that person itself. This movie beautifully represents such statement for the 'The Perfect Human' part.
