Amazing Documentary and a HIDDEN GEM
12 February 2022
Why am I crying for a fireworks display? This film is such a masterpiece of the life and experiences of a MASTER artist. As a viewer that truly enjoys art and fireworks I learned today that it is an art form that can be truly appreciated beyond all the WOWS and APPLAUSES. He shared his upbring, the mindset of his ancestors, the political climate he was acclimated, his loyalty to his home country balanced by his love of art and his family (loved the grandmother). This name Cai Guo-Qiang should be as famous as PICASSO but the reality of the political and social context we live in prevents this. He is brave, loyal, and an asset to the art world. Never enjoyed a documentary as much as this one. What a blessing he has moved to the US and his passion is so heartfelt it can't be denied.

Prophetic portrayal of Life in the US
31 December 2021
What a "must see" film. Nothing is left to the imagination and truths of deception by political forces and the wealthy with power was on full display. The end result was our on need to pursue selfishness which is the state of this country at this time. The ultimate resolutions were painful but inevitable. Kudo's to Adrianne Grande - I love her more each time I hear her sing.

Trust your power, lover your blackness, you know who you are
4 November 2021
Totally blown away by this autobiography of Colin Kaepernick. The low ratings only come from people that would never understand what being Black in America from the prospective of being adopted by white parents and living a life that typically "only white" boys would experience. From 1965 (school integration) to today I have experienced the same and similar experiences. Thank God that he was able to show his blackness in a white world that even in "ratings" are degrading and deprecating to a person who has achieved so much and represents the pinnacle of pride in race, pride in opposing injustice and pride in achievements. The 6 episodes were a treatise on a life that has truy OVERCOME. His journey to becoming a quarterback is awe inspiring and this story will become the JANE PITTMAN for the younger generation. The director and story writer were all A+.

The difference between knowing the name of a G.O.A.T and knowing ABOUT him.
27 February 2021
I read some of the other reviews and didn't understand the depth of their comments and criticisms. As a football fan -American football (soccer is just a sport without contact and helmets and brutal injuries) is football, I grew up knowing the name of Pele' but not much about him. This documentary was so informative and unbiased dealing with his life from a personal and political prospective. He obviously did not want to be political but wanted to be his a hero in his Nation of Brazil (politics aside). I am so glad the director was able to interview him so he could do - retrospection of his life in general. This film is another feather in his cap and I hope others who want to know more about the "man" Pele' as opposed to the "symbol" of Pele' enjoys this film as much as I have. I truly enjoyed it and will look forward to watching a world cup for the first time after watching this documentary.

A necessary story
26 December 2020
This movie appeared on You Tube December 26 2020 and I started to watch. Not a moment did I turn my eyes or attention away from the screen. The depth of storytelling, the beauty of the landscape, the intensity of action, the cultural exploration and the outcome of this story all make it a solid 10. Very good editing, producing and cinematography. Viewers (especially women or men with daughters) will be immersed in this story and a movie that should be a discussion point for womens' rights all over the world.

A drama that expands your appreciation of cultural differenees.
8 August 2019
First time watching a drama from Pakistan (thanks to Netflix). This was an amazing work of art that should be viewed by all. It is a study of class differences when the element of power is added. The dynamics of power and powerless is portrayed with the addition of emotional investment of the viewer. A study in emotions follows: joy, trust, surprise, anger, fear, disgust, sadness and anticipation are all heavily used to move this drama forward to the point of viewer addiction. I personally cried throughout the drama and spent many hours after midnight binge watching. After the writer takes you through all of these emotions he overlays the importance of spiritual growth -- the recognition of the power of God and prayer in all of our lives. Submission, acceptance and obedience to His will. This drama was amazing, first rate acting, beautiful staging throughout and costume designs perfect. Loved it - loved it and recommend to everyone. Just a word of warning - don't read Wikipedia before watching - it is spoiler central for this drama. Too much information before viewing.

One of Life's Miracles
18 June 2019
This movie took the time to venture into the internal feelings of survivors of the Emanuel 9 shooting. Since it is a documentary it is carefully edited to make important yet unforgettable points without traumatizing the viewers. It lays a historical foundation, it tells the immediate trauma faced by the daughter of a victim, tt humanizes the victims and gave their lives value it tells the story of hate inbreed and born in the shooter who seeks maximum input, it tells how trust in God and your beliefs in Jesus allows a person to forgive and forgive with the same love of Jesus Christ. it tells how what could have been the match that lit a "race war" in the USA was extinguished.

The writer and editor did an excellent job highlighting important facts without being "in your face" graphic. A soft approach to a hard core situation. I gave it a 10 because I am hypersensitive and expected to boo hoo throughout -- instead I felt the grace of God in their lives of the survivors instead. A must see.

Warning: Spoilers
Yes, I have seen Towering Inferno (the first movie I watched without eating a kernel of popcorn); and yes I have seen Tower - the Korean version of a burning building and a hero. This is not a new concept but who cares -- disaster movies only have a limited amount of subject matters to draw from and it has been a while since the "burning building" has been used. I found the movie enjoyable --- first Dwayne Johnson carries the day with the word family. A good wholesome theme that resonates throughout the entire movie. What would you do to save your family? I also like the powerhouse women in this movie -- no shrinking violets to be found - whether good or bad. Last but not least we all will be shopping for masking tape to carry with us -- you just never know when you don't have a band-aid. Worth going to see and worth the movie dollar.
