Die große Stille (2005)
Loooooooooooooooooooooong
It is not that I have anything against 3 hours movies or documentaries, but for this one you have to be prepared. I thought I was but I wasn't. After 2 hours I really wanted the movie to finish, IMHO it was not adding anything new. Maybe that is the idea, to show how different life is on the Monastery and how fast we live and how easily we get bored... maybe... but it was boring anyway.
The movie is beautifully photographed, in some way I can compare the experience to attending a Classical Music concert. The music, or in this case the images, stay in the background while you have some time to think calmly of your affairs.
If you want to give a try to this one, definitely do it at at a theater. A DVD is not the medium.
Match Point (2005)
Woody's Opera
Well, after waiting for a year I finally saw it yesterday. I had not read any review or even watched the trailer so I didn't expect anything (by the way, forget the trailer, it has nothing to do with the mood of the movie).
I found the music selection of the film (all Opera) was related to the structure and mood of the movie: passion, betrayals, murder, etc. Mr. Allen presents a movie which I think is different from the rest of his movies (or at least is not the typical Woody's film and not only because it has no one playing his part). Much more drama and thriller than comedy. I would consider it an evolution from Melinda & Melinda.
It's not an easy movie, it is not easy for me to say how much I liked it, not yet, that's good. I would like to see it again. Great acting and remarkable photography by Remi Adefarasin.
Not too many people have seen it, the ball has just hit the net and it's still flying. Let's see in which side your movie, Mr. Allen, ends up falling.
Ski to the Max (2001)
Makes IMAX boring
This movie was something new to me. It was the first time I was in an IMAX theatre and I wanted the film to end.
Corny, stupid plot which make the "actors" loose credibility when performing and, specially, boooooooooooring.
