American Psycho (2000)
Whats it all about
I really didn't get this film until someone explained it to me then it just clicked. It's a strange film which makes you believe that the main character is a murderer but it's all inside his head. Plenty of blood, sex and craziness.
Christian Bale delivers a grand performance as the psychopath and a great performance by Chloe Sevigny helps it along its way.
I really can't write much more as like I said I didn't get the film at first. I may have to watch it again sometime and maybe I can add more to it then.
My rating - 5/10
An American Tail (1986)
Birlliant
One of my favorite cartoon films of all time. The tale of a family of Russian mice who sail to America to be free of cats. Along the way young Fievel loses his family and with the help of a pigeon dressed very smartly and a few other mice he finds them. Unfortunately for the family they soon discover there are cats in America and they all join forces with other mice to rid these cats from New York. They do this successfully and the family live on o tell the tale.
Excellent animation from the time it was made and excellent voices.
I love it!!

Mindstorm (2001)
Its nothing special
An interestingly boring film which I managed to watch all the way through. I don't know how I did though. The acting was appalling and the story line was mediocre.
A story of a man who was taken from his family as a baby and turned into to a human telepathic machine where he can move anything with his mind. He escapes and finds his sister and they run form the army and a select few special ops officers.
Only watch if you like bad acting.
I mean that!!

Ferris Bueller's Day Off (1986)
Better than the best
After being told that at my age I should have seen this film, i felt very disappointed that I had never even heard of it. So I decided to watch and I am really grateful that I was told about this film. I enjoyed this a lot and the laughs I had were a joy.
Matthew Broderick, Alan Ruck and Mia Sara compliment this film very well and add so much energy and enthusiasm into the story line. The acting is superb and the facial expression are timed to perfection.
A must watch for anyone, and I mean anyone. This film is perfect in so many ways and I can not compliment it enough.
Go watch now!! I beg you to!! My Rating 11/10
Blast (2004)
Action at its best
An interesting action film about a group of bank robber come terrorists who Hijack an oil rig from which they wish to fire an electro magnetic pulse over California to wipe out any traces of their robbery. Unfortunately for them, the tug boat captain, an ex marine happens to be around to help save the day with help from an undercover FBI agent.
Watch as the face paced action with gun fights and even hand to hand combat. There are explosions and the screen play is spot on. I recommend this to anyone.
Vinnie Jones does an excellent job in the bad boy role of terrorist group leader. Eddie Griffin as the tug boat captain is as perfect as you can be. You even get to see Shaggy in this film.
My rating 10/10
Æon Flux (2005)
This is what assassins should look like
A wonderful matrix style assassin equipped film. I loved this film and not just because Charlize Theron was looking amazing in it. The story line is brilliant, one city that has fought of a deadly virus under the ruling of a descendant of the virus's cure. Aeon must take things into her own hands when deep secrets are revealed and she must fight to survive.
Excellent screen play and acting add to the viewing pleasure given. Outstanding performance and killer looks by Charlize Theron compliment it very well.
A recommended watch for those fans of action and adventure films.

A Scanner Darkly (2006)
Animation at its best
My first animated film review. I bought this film as it was cheap in Asda and had no idea what it would be like, could say was in impulse purchase. Anyways when I watched I was really amazed at how brilliant it was. It had that totally whacked up story line where everyone is on a drug called Substance D and doesn't know who they are. Even an undercover cop starts to get hooked and slowly loses his identity.
Voices include Rory Cochrane, Robert Downey Jnr, Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder.
A must watch if I am perfectly honest. I don't normally go into the animated side of films but I was taken aback at the wonderfully written story line and the screen play.

Open Water 2: Adrift (2006)
Who will survive, only their determination can tell
An interesting story of how three couples who have known each other since high school embark on a yacht trip to celebrate on of the guys birthdays. Whilst out in the deep blue they decide to go for a swim in the wonderfully blue and calm ocean. One of the girls stays on board to start as she has had a phobia of water since a young age, but later is dragged in by another one of the guys.
However someone forgot to put the ladder down and due to the height of the yacht it proves impossible to get back on board.
Watch in suspense as they fight to stay alive, losing loved ones to the ocean and their own actions as the day progresses. Who will survive.
An amazing film full of action and suspense. A recommended watch to anyone.

10,000 BC (2008)
A fine piece of work
Another film where I had not heard of any of the actors and actresses and the director. Even so I found myself in awe of the outstanding graphics and the wonderful story line. The writer has captured so much and given this film a lot of heart.
The story follows a young hunter and his fellow hunters as they cross the land of the Levant in order to save his true hearts desire and his fellow tribesmen. Watch in amazement as they battle against sabre tooth tigers, large birds and take on mysterious horse riders in order to fulfill their destiny.
A fantastic mix of action and adventure with a hint of romance about it. A recommended watch to anyone.

Tunnel Rats (2008)
A fantastic film and a must watch
Despite having an air of doubt over this film after reading that the director Uwe Boll was given a Razzie award for worst director I decided to watch it. I am glad I did. This film portrays the problems the US army faced with the Kamikaze Vietnamese soldiers.
The Army's job is to flush out the tunnels and render them useless, but little do they know that the tunnels they are in are actually above where they need to be. The Vietnamese suicide squad does its best to stop all this from happening.
This film has blood, action, fighting, explosions and a hint of gore. The screen play is top notch and I think the director does not deserve the Razzie, he did a fantastic job. The actors are little known but still I recommend watching.
My rating 8/10
24: Redemption (2008)
A great film and I haven't watched the TV show yet
This film carries the story on from the end of Season 6 of the hit TV show 24. Having not seen any of the TV series I had no idea what to expect, but to my joy I really enjoyed it and will be starting the long slog of watching 24 from the first episode.
My favourite actor of all time Kiefer Sutherland does an amazing job as always portraying Jack Bauer. Appearances from Robert Carlyle and Jon Voight just add to the viewing pleasure. Plenty of action, a lot of gun shots and a few explosions just to add some adrenaline.
A must watch for any action fan and any fan of Kiefer Sutherland.

21 (2008)
Blackjack anyone
An interesting look into the world of counting cards and the consequences surrounding it. Ben (Jim Sturgess) is welcomed into a group of people headed by Micky (Kevin Spacey) and soon learns the ropes. After a while Ben just can't say no and blows it all bringing them to the attention of casino security headed by Cole (Laurence Fishburne).
Full of intense action and a great storyline, this is a must watch film. Kate Bosworth provides the beauty in this film and she does a great job at it. This film won't disappoint.

16 Blocks (2006)
Fabulous piece of writing
A very enjoyably, fast paced film, exploring the world of what a cop would do when faced with protecting a criminal who is due to testify against his colleagues. The story line has you on edge with the adventure that is being portrayed. There is no lack of action and the adrenaline just keeps on pumping.
First class performances for Bruce Willis, Mos Def and David Morse help this film to be what it is. Director Richard Donner has done a fabulous job in putting this film together.
A must watch for any Bruce Willis fan.
My Rating 10/10
8 Mile (2002)
A good film with a decent rapper
A venture by Eminem into the film industry. The story line had a lot of heart in it and portrayed the life of a young rapper wanting to make it big and the problems he faced to do so. A must watch film for any rap fan and anyone who likes a film full of heart. Set in Detroit where the 8 Mile is a boundary between where and who you want to be. Eminem plays his character very well and the stuff he sings has meaning and actually sounds good (I'm not a big rap fan). The late Brittany Murphy acts her character to her full potential and as always has a very appealing charm about her.
I enjoyed this film and can't really find much more to say about it. Except for watch it if you already haven't.
My rating 9/10
7 Seconds (2005)
Grannies on mobility scooters can do better stunts
An interestingly boring film. It has action, well little of it and when it happens its very slow paced. The car chases are pretty dire, I think a load of grannies on mobility scooters could do a better job. Wesley Snipes portrays his character very well and a good performance form Tamzin Outhwaite were about the only pluses I could find.
The story line was mediocre and could have done with a bit, i mean a lot of tweaking to get it to the standard it really should of been. Directed by Simon Fellows who I have actually never heard of, and he has only done around three more films since this one. I wonder why.
My rating 4/10
2 Fast 2 Furious (2003)
Pretty damn amazing driving
Loved this film and the combination of Paul Walker and Tyrese Gibson worked a treat. The lovely Eva Mendes was as pleasing to the eye as always. The story line was fantastic. Go undercover and work for the drug exporter and then bring him down whilst saving the girl. Plus doing all this in a modded Mitsubishi Evo and Mitsubishi Spyder, amazing cars and the exhaust tones were pleasing to he ear.
A recommended watch for any fan of the F & S series of films or anyone that loves cars, especially the modded and cruise scene. If you haven't seen it, go watch now!! Plenty of action, plenty of adventure and lots of adrenaline.
