Troy (2004)
Ouch! What was Petersen thinking??
Oh my, I don't know where to begin. This movie disappointed me in so many ways. First, it looked like a 60s B-Movie from italy (these were more fun tho). Where was Troy's glory? It was one of the richest cities back then. But all that Petersen showed were the gate and some walls basically. Boring and unimaginative. Then the script, this one really hurt. It was slow, missed all the important stuff (eh, wasn't the war meant to last 10 years and not 2 days (+12 days pausing)?? Where was all the pain and frustration the greeks suffered? It all looked like a walk in the park, especially after they thought of the horse (and why, please why did they build it after just 1 (!) day of fighting? I won't go into too much detail, but Petersen changed the Illiad way too much (but maybe that's good, so we don't need to fear a Troy 2). Save your bucks at all costs. 2/10
Was nützt die Liebe in Gedanken (2004)
Boring, and completely miscast
Oh my, I don't know where to begin. This movie was so unbelievably bad...First, the casting sucked a lot. Daniel Brühl and Jana Pallaske just aren't teens from the 1920s, they look like standard germans from today. The whole "party" looked like they were cast right from Berlin Mitte, with their 70s retro hairdo. Big No No! The most emberassing moment was the one where a "DJ" (??!!) started scratching on an old grammophone. And it gets worse by the minute, the whole plot is boring, badly written and poorly directed. The only highlights are Anna Maria Mühe and August Diehl, but they can't save this boring wreck from sinking. If you really want to see this movie rent it. It's not worth your $$ at the box office.
The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003)
Worst of the trilogy
I have no idea why people freak out with this movie and vote it to #3 already. It's the worst part of the trilogy by far, it never finds its rhythm, the special effects are flawed, the music is overdone and it's boring. It really looks like a 6hr movie cut down to 200mins by some guy who has no idea at all of storytelling. Parts that must be short are overlong, others are way too short which could need some explanation. No character developments at all, hints at stuff that doesn't appear anywhere in the movie (confrontation of the witchking and gandalf for example) and a heap load of boredom really spoiled my experience. It looks like a 3hr trailer for the extended edition.
The Matrix Revolutions (2003)
Oh my god...
this must be one of the worst movies I have ever seen. The Wachowskis really scored a hit with Matrix, and thinking of the time and $$ they had to develop the storyline even further for Reloaded and Revolutions it's hard to believe they delivered this pile of crap. The first half of the movie is full with ultra-boring pseudo-philosophical talk, then the action kicks in, but it's so boringly shot and directed, it won't get you out of the seat at all. You're just waiting for these boring fights to end soon. There's not one single interesting thing in that "movie". I'm really tired of these movies that show off a weird firework of SFX, but have NO story at all. And i won't talk about the ending, that's just ridicolous.
If you're feeling bored, don't even rent it. It's not worth anyone's time.
Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle (2003)
Boring...
Ouch! I really liked the first Angel#s movie. It was sweet fun. This movie however is just plain boring. It tries to cash in on the fun stuff of the first (Cameron Diaz' butt and whacky dancing etc) but completely forgets about a storyline. I mean, it's not just a thin plot, this movie has absolutely NO plot. Every fightscene is completely packed with unnecessary CGI and Bullet-Time effects. Is it so hard for a director nowadays to forget about The Matrix and think about effects on his own? All the fun of the first movie is gone, this movie has no soul. Instead of watching CA2 I think it's more fun turning on MTV and wait for the video by Pink. Most of the fun stuff is in the video as well and it just takes 5 min.
The In-Laws (2003)
Boring, Unfunny, Annoying
The In-Laws wasn't funny at all. I was exspecting a whacky over the top comedy, but all I got was an annoying Albert Brooks, running around screaming and getting on everyone's nerves, an extremely unfunny Michael Douglas, a boring script and no charme at all. Don't even rent it, it's not worth your valuable time. 2/10.
