Jongmalui Babo (2024)
Made it through Episode 2
I find watching South Korean series a bit of a challenge at times. The acting can be a bit weak, the dialogue odd and dated by American standards, and the cultural differences can be apparent. Still, I can normally enjoy these series. This show is an exception. As others have said, the theme could have been good. I was looking forward to watching the series. As is, it is slow and confusing, with weak acting. Actually, very confusing! I was uncertain what was going on beyond the big picture, nor did I care. I hate not seeing shows and books through, but I was pretty sure this one was DOA by the end of episode 1. And it was.
Molto Bella (2022)
Lovely
My wife and I really loved this small lovely movie. The music, the poetry, the acting, the scenery. Pulls at the heartstrings. So nice to see a love begin in friendship and emotional/intellectual connection rather than sex. Some of the professional reviewers who gave it so-so ratings don't get it. Had to watch it a second time to catch more details and be certain of the ending. Thanks to those who created this. PS It only added to my pleasure, after reading about the movie, to learn that the key actors/producers were originally from Nebraska and became friends at the U if Nebraska. I was born and grew up in Nebraska before moving for college and my career. Perhaps it's a Nebraska thing. :)
