The Wayans Bros.: The High Life (1998)
Season 5, Episode 8
2/10
Hilarious episode.
14 June 2008
Marlon has an audition coming up, but when he gets there an actor he admires tells him to smoke some marijuana before the audition to loosen him up. Marlon proceeds to act like a fool, doing terrible comedy and generally acting like a jackass. You can tell that the writers of this episode were not familiar with pot as you'll never see anyone act the was Marlon does after smoking.

It is a silly episode that tries to send out a serious message that ultimately fails. If it were approached in a realistic way, it may have succeeded. However, it is not one of the better Wayan's Brothers episodes.

Mediocre.
20 May 2005
Warning: Spoilers
All over the internet I have been hearing reports about how the latter half of this film is superior to anything they've done in the prequel trilogy.

I firmly disagree. In fact, I believe the second half of the film is arguably the worst of the series. With the supposedly dramatic turn of Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen, as angsty as ever.) to the darkside and Chancellor Palpatine's(Ian McDermid) embarrassing metamorphosis (done in the cheesiest way imaginable) to Emperor Palpatine, everything is just cheesy.

George Lucas seemingly put 80% of his effort into the very well done CG and action sequences, 19% into the advertisement and 1% into the writing and directing the actor's dialog. This, in my opinion, is why he is not a good director. The only people in this film that can overcome the horrible script are Ewan McGregor (who delivers an excellent performance as Obi Wan Kenobi) and (for the most part) Ian McDermid. Not even Samuel L. Jackson delivers an acceptable performance.

Hayden Christensen's final line is embarrassingly awful and though you feel the chills when the familiar Darth Vader is seen, you cringe during his one scene. James Earl Jones' delivery of the lines are terrible, and they're really badly written. One of the worst parts of the entire trilogy is a supposedly angry Vader yelling "No!" clenching his fists. When the most dramatic scene of the film gets laughs, something is wrong.

If you do see this film, you're only going to be impressed with the action, but when it comes down to it, the thing that should really matter in films is not how many frames per second the animations are, or how fast you can duel a lightsaber, but the acting.

I had high hopes for this film after reading many reviews, but just like I was in 1997, Lucas disappointed me again.

Viva la Bam (2003–2006)
Vastly overrated.
17 July 2004
In my opinion, this show was okay when it first aired last year, but the new season is just stupid. Everything is obviously scripted, as opposed to the spur of the moment things Bam did in his early years(check out the Toy Machine tape "Jump Off a Building" from the late 90s for some great skating and some of Bam's early shenanigans.) Myself and many others think Bam has sold out to the highest degree, making skateboarders all seem like asses that go out and bug people or help themselves for laughter.

All in all, this show is lame. Don't watch it. Go skate. Also, another note, I HATE it that this show has influenced all of these kids to listen to the mediocre band HIM and start wearing all of Bam's memorabilia. STOP IT. You're NOT Bam. Let him do what he wants.

WWE Velocity (2002–2006)
Best wrestling show on TV.
26 November 2003
WWE Velocity is where the WWE bookers place talent that they cannot find a use for on the main show of SmackDown! Don't get me wrong, that doesn't mean they are bad entertainers, in fact, that is far from the truth.

Velocity brings together veterans like Ultimo Dragon, Rh-->I<--no and Chris Kanyon. Also, they have indy veterans like Paul London, Brian "Spanky" Kendrick, Nunzio(Formerly ECW's Little Guido) and Nova.

If you want to see no bull, entertaining WRESTLING on TV without a McMahon on the screen every ten minutes, this is the show for you. Do yourself a favor and check this out. Trust me, you will not be disappointed.
