Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle (2003)
WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT!
SPOILERS**** i cannot believe that Charlie's Angels 2 was this BAD! i knew when i began watching that it was a sequel and that a sequel NEVER beats an original, but i was really let down here.
i love all the main characters and DEMI MOORE really helped boost this boring flick for me, but she was only in like 20 minutes of the whole film. the previews made me think she had a larger role. "ok, whatever"
the storyline basically landed a huge stinkbomb when it comes to believability (is that a word) and the special effects are even more disappointing. its like the screen yelled out "HEY THIS IS A BUNCH OF FAKE STUFF BUT WATCH IT ANYWAYS!" i was really let down.
Set It Off (1996)
makes you think, you know?
i saw set it off the first time about the beginning of 2004 and again recently. i figured it would be just like EVERY OTHER action movie (or every other movie for that matter) and have a happy ending. SPOILERS***
i never expected 3 of the 4 characters to die so violently, i mean i felt like my best friend died THREE TIMES!!! i think the best performance was from Queen Latifah just because i really didnt expect her to do such a hard role like cleo. especially since she has such femme roles like chicago and beauty shop lately. all in all this film was really awesome and has some twists that no viewer could expect.
Why Do Fools Fall in Love (1998)
PRETTY C_O_O_L
i think halle berry, viv fox, and lela rochon are tops!! great flick!! i bought it on DVD and cant stop watchin it!! wheres lela rochon lately though?? shes too talented to just leave films!! i think larenz tate did real good too~~~
Baby Boy (2001)
awesome times
this movie was one of those films that need to be made more often. it doesnt try to glamorize life in the ghetto! its completly real and it shows the struggles people in the ghetto go through. tyrese doesnt act that great but he is convincing.. i loved a. j. johnson's acting though, she is awesome!
A League of Their Own (1992)
in a league of its own
i think a league of their own has a league of its own. i first saw it in 1999 and after seeing madonna in desperately seeking susan, i wanted to see another side of her (playing a somewhat historical role) i think she did extremely well, and it shows in her acting. the movie is tops in my book
Tracey Ullman in the Trailer Tales (2003)
this was real funny
i think tracey ullmans trailer tales were awesome...especially tryin to get her makeup job back..lol..when are u comin back with another tracey takes on series...tracey???? more hbo specials would be great too...maybe with fern rosenthal or linda granger? YEAH!
Out to Sea (1997)
yes!!
i think matthau and lemmon are the funniest pair of comedians and god's gift to film! i think they are really talented and have great chemistry in every film they did together and OUT TO SEA is no exception!! dyan cannon is great in her role too.
The Return of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1994)
the funniest horror flick i ever saw!!
well i have to say that this picture was by FAR the funniest horror film i have ever seen (beside 2002's Queen of the Damned) i love everything about it and watching it at 1:00 in the morning made me wonder if there really were psychopaths wandering around as they had in this AWESOME MOVIE
Don't Bother to Knock (1952)
scary!!
to be absolutely honest, marilyn monroe acted extremely well in this film. I think it was the first i had everseen of her (2001) and after all i had heard about her acting as a "blonde bombshell" this picture sent me in another direction. SHE CAN ACT!! to see marilyn play a psychotic woman may not have been completely hard for her (no offense intended) but i feel it was superb acting! Ashame she wasnt offered more roles like this one
Enough (2002)
not 2 bad
the story is great because it hasnt been used by hollywood 4000000 times! i think its one of j lo's better roles, even though some may not agree. but i think the actress that played the daughter was a little annoying at times...ouch i shouldn't have said it!
Queen of the Damned (2002)
hmmmm
yes, thestory is a little interesting, and dont deny it, but why is aaliyah billed as the lead? she didnt appear until about 40 minutes into the film and lasted for about a half hour! i was a little dissappointed. i saw the deleted scenes at the end and one that i feel should have remained was the meeting of ancient vampires ( it gives alot more detail as to their "mission" and reason for even apperaing on Queen of the Damned) although aaliyah did complete filming before her untimely death, i feel it could have been more worth her while. What was the director thinking!!
Something's Got to Give (1962)
OH what might have been..
if marilyn hadn't sadly passed in August 1962 and Fox wasn't so unusually blind to her true talent, this picture would have given marilyn the film roles she trully deserved! i first saw the final cut (about 37 minutes) of the film on AMC's celebration of Miss Monroe's 75th birthday in 2001. i think dean martin's performance deserved awards along with marilyn...Oh what might have been
Norma Jean & Marilyn (1996)
HMMM...
i love marilyn monroe and mira sorvino,,,so when i first saw this picture in 2001 i was blown away...Ashley Judd and Sorvino have more talent than i ever imagined. some of the film is a little diced in terms of Monroe's real life and some characters are confused for real life or fiction (was the character named Eddie really involved with Marilyn?) All in all this picture is A-OK in my book
Evita (1996)
BEST FILM I HAVE SEEN
i know...EVITA can be a little confusing if you are a first time viewer but it does deserve a chance. i first saw the movie in 1998 and did not appreciate it very much ( i was younger and didnt care for musicals) However, when i gave it a second chance in early 2003, i realized that the picture really is a sort of diamond in the rough. Considering Madonna's real life antics, i think she made a complete turn around in her role as Eva Peron! Antonio Banderas also shines brightly on the silver screen as the fictional narrator Che..he doesnt sing too badly either. many of the loud scenes in front of the CASA ROSADA are exceptional..i got chills..i also appreciated songs like EVA AND CHE'S WALTZ..and i'd be surprisingly good for you!! My hat definitely goes off to the cast and crew of this wonderful film, for it is an excellent tribute to EVA DUARTE DE PERON!!
French Kiss (1995)
C_R_A_Z_Y!!
this is the #1 romantic comedy i have seen in years! i saw it first in 2000 and i love Meg Ryan and Kevin Kline! What a pair! and the country of france is so beautiful (no matter what we Americans may think) ALL I CAN SAY IS MERCI to the cast and crew for a great film
Valley of the Dolls (1967)
good..but a little bland
i first saw valley of the dolls when learning that judy garland had signed on for the role of helen lawson. though susan hayward did a wonderful job in the role that garland was fired from, i feel Judy had a certain excellence that could have made the film that much better.
