Headless: A Sleepy Hollow Story (2022)
Shipwrecked Comedy have outdone themselves
This show ended a week ago and I don't know if I'll ever get over it. I was hooked from the first episode, but it just kept getting progressively better, and the finale is truly mind-blowing. I've been a fan of Shipwrecked Comedy for years and I love everything they do, so I knew I was going to love this too, but I was still unprepared for just how high quality every aspect of the show would be. The acting, the writing, and overall production quality put many actual TV shows to shame, and this is an independent YouTube project made with $200k from Kickstarter. I can't even begin to imagine what these brilliant artists could do with a million dollars. I truly hope they get the chance to show us one day. But rewatching Headless is more than enough to tide me over until then.
The Fairly Oddparents: Fairly Odder (2022)
Fun and silly
This is a good kids' sitcom. If you go into it expecting a dramatic cinematic masterpiece, you will probably be disappointed, but if you go into it expecting a kids' sitcom you will probably be pleasantly surprised. It's ridiculous and over-the-top and tons of fun. The acting perfectly suits the style, with Tyler Wladis as popular, charming Roy and Mary Kate Wiles as delightfully diabolical Vicky particularly standing out. I'm glad I didn't listen to the haters and gave this show a chance.
A Cryptmas Carol (2018)
Shipwrecked Comedy Never Disappoints
This production company blows me away. Over and over again, they manage to turn the tiniest amount of money into high-quality, entertaining content, and this short is no exception. I will say if you haven't watched A Tell Tale Vlog and Edgar Allan Poe's Murder Mystery Dinner Party, this probably won't make a lot of sense, so definitely check those out first. For fans of those series, this is a must-see. The performances of Sean Persaud, Sinead Persaud, and Mary Kate Wiles are among their best; the writing is brilliant as always; the literary references are particularly clever; the soundtrack is perfect; and the Poe Party reference jokes are absolutely delightful. In short, this was everything I wanted it to be and more, just like everything Shipwrecked Comedy creates.
