Episodes (2011)
Great show, its funny and has right kind of drama
The politically incorrect jokes are a fresh breath of air as I watch this in 2023.
It's extremely funny and has the right kind of drama it has heart in it I was not expecting it to be so funny the ratings are criminally low I don't know why this show wasn't so popular I am happy that I found it I saw a short of the show and I started watching it and I am glad that I did that I have just seen 5 episodes first episode was not that good but after that it was fun and I hope the rest of the show is also as good as the first five episodes.
It's very different from whatever I seen in the past it is a sex comedy with no nudity.
Jawan (2023)
Nothing new but wasn't boring
Film started really well but as the film progresses you are reminded of a lot of films and one particular TV show. Pretty much everything is predictable but it is not boring .
By the end of the movie I was getting a headache from all the action which was happening. I enjoyed major part of the movie but if you try to find any logic it will be very difficult to enjoy it.
Some parts of the movie were pointless. But there was so much going on that you can still watch it and won't feel that 3 hrs of your life were horribly wasted.
SRK looks handsome and in form, nayantara is lovely. Vijay Sethupathi should have had a much powerful character to make the clash between him and SRK epic.
Kaabil (2017)
Underrated Gem
The story is not exactly new but the plot twists and the earnest acting keeps you immersed in the experience. Music was decent but many songs were unnecessary, the title song is a classic.
First half of the film is disturbing given the story is about revenge. So it is a compliment to the filmmakers.
Hrithik and Yami were brilliant and other performances were nothing special
The dialogues of Rohit Roy seemed too artificial.
I just saw the film and it was truly enjoyable. Because of the bad reviews I skipped when it came out. Recently I saw raving reviews on imdb so I decided to watch. I am glad I did .
An Action Hero (2022)
Inconsistent but I thoroughly enjoyed it
The movie was engaging. But the theme shifts in the 2nd half which was unpredictable inconsistent with the tone of the film but filled with fun and entainment. Few aspects were repetitive and unreal so but I just can't remember watching a such an awesome action flick in a long time.
The theatre had only 8 people in the audience including me but experience was simply amazing
Ayushman Jaideep and the BGM were brilliant. The Twists and comedy were on point almost every time. Masood character was weird but it was essential for the movie.
Awesome Bollywood masala action flick with great Acting, BGM and Script.
The Pickup Game (2019)
Somewhat honest but is extremely biased
Somewhat honest as it show half the truth but is extremely biased especially in the second half. It tries to generalize pickup/game as being outright deceptive and even criminal which is not the case
The documentary tries to portray that huge section of pickup coaches are teaching to rape women. If that was true then why would anyone watch such videos on YouTube let alone pay them to learn how to rape women. As the movie clearly points out it is much cheaper to hire an escort.
Being manipulative and deceptive is definitely taught by some pickup gurus to get consent but there are many who advocate being honest and authentic so that you can get quality girls that you want in your life. Everyone knows if you screw over anyone not necessarily girls they will comeback to get even.
Justine Wayne making girls getting his name tattooed on their body and making them meet each other was extremely heart-breaking and disturbing to see. But it tells more about him than the pickup industry
Pickup as a skills set and as your entire life are two different things. These coaches have made this important aspect of life into their entire life, which to me isn't healthy but but developing social skills is a necessity and a great thing to do.
Breaking News : Girls enjoy sex, you don't need to manipulate them to have sex.
Having a nice personality and social awareness is vital to get laid and have friendships in life. That is exactly what guys learn from pickup
I learnt a lot from game, never once deceived any girl because it was never needed. I learnt to be happier with who I am, be more tolerant of others opinion and rejections and now I have quality people in my life.
The Pickup Artist (2007)
Brilliant show
Both the seasons were really good.
Mostly people who appreciate pickup artistry are the target audience of this show as learning to attract/seduce girls is considered politically incorrect.
Most men are clueless about what attracts and seduces girls. In fact most people don't even realize that like any skill social skills are to be learnt.
This show can be an eye opener to the reality of social dynamics, which is one of the most secretly guarded truths.
Coupling (2000)
Extremely funny and hasn't aged at all
I just saw 2nd season and it was hilarious. Its been 18 years since it was made and it hasn't aged at all. Though I find Friends to be the best sitcom ever but this is just the next best thing.
I don't prefer british accent so I saw the 1st season of the american version which I liked but this is way better than that.
O.J.: Made in America (2016)
I am surprized I could connect to it being an Indian
Before watching this documentary I never knew about such racism in US or about OJ simpson. But this was one hell of a ride I could completely relate to it. The documentary made me feel for the plight of the black community, it felt as if Nicole was a dear friend. Despite of the fact that OJ got the maximum screentime the director made sure it becomes extremely difficult to empathise with OJ.
One thing which was kind of disturbing was that the American judicial system is completely flawed and hardly takes facts and evidences into consideration.
Khuda Kay Liye (2007)
Depressing, disturbing and boring
I went to the theatre expecting to see an engaging film as critics were raving about it. It had 2-3 really good scenes but rest was either boring or disturbing. The end of the fim was deeply disturbing with no moral silver lining.
Insatiable (2018)
Hilarious, weird and novel
Novelty is the highlight of the show. It starts as a really funny but novel show with really a lead character which is never really likable but the show is. This show change genres as it progresses it gets really weird by the end of the first season but it is bound to keep you hooked and keep you laughing
Sex Education (2019)
It is so fresh
I have only seens the first 4 episodes so my review is based those episodes. We all have seen tons of teenage sex comedies. But this one is different because it is actually does the same thing in a new refreshing way. It has its laugh out loud moments, surprisingly the show has a lot of heart without making it cheesy and on some level it is realistic which is the best part.
The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected) (2017)
Surprizingly funny and entertaining
I have seen many character driven films based around dysfuntional family but this one was by far the best. There were many laugh out loud moments. Characters were fleshed out very well. The movie really didn't have a story. It was just a look into the lives of the Meyerowitz stories. I usually find movie of this kind a waste of time and even the trailer didn't intrigued me but I really liked the film
Andhadhun (2018)
Funniest thriller I have seen
I am a avid fan of world cinema. But this movie is unique its extremely funny and keeps you at the edge of the seat. Music is melodious an makes the cinema viewing experience more enriching. The movie is comepletely fresh to the point one gives up guessing what will happen next as one is engrossed in watching what is happening.
I am not expecting better and novel cinema from bollywood this year. Its a gem and deserves to be watched on big screen.
Chalard games goeng (2017)
Extremely Underratted Smart Film
First of all I saw this on my laptop, so the overwhelming experience of watching this masterpiece would have multiplied if I could have seen this film on big screen.
The film was about smartly cheating on tests, but it was done smartly. Characters were well sketched. Situations were authentic and relatable despite of the fact it was a Thai film. There were many scenes which kept you on the edge of the seat. There were many twist and turns in the plot and chracter arcs. I just dont want to give away anything in this review as I didnt know anything about the film prior to watching the film.
