Anne of Green Gables (2016)
Delightful Version
I am literally shocked at the negative reviews. This was the most delightful version I have seen and that includes a stage version. I love the character Marilla, the combination of sternness and love for Anne was masterful. Martin Sheen as always did an excellent job. Beautiful scenery and the girl who played Ann was perfect. Her mastering of the dialog and prose was excellent.
Christmas in Evergreen (2017)
Nice holiday movie
I am writing my review after reviewing the other 12 reviews. Several people thought it unbelievable that she would actually drive a truck to DC, clearly they did not watch the movie because she was not driving the truck to DC she was driving the truck to the airport there was a whole scene about the airport being snowed and in flights being canceled. That said, the town was idyllic the doctor was handsome the kid was cute, and the movie had a very typical plot as many as these Hallmark movies have the same plot. All in all though it was still enjoyable. The only thing I don't like is it felt like she led her boyfriend in DC on for several years and he seemed very serious about the relationship, and he also seemed like a really nice guy. If the main characters is going to betray a long time boyfriend at least they could do is make him a cad and an unlikeable person. I know they are all ending up where they are supposed to be, but it seemed like a betrayal which made it a little sad to me.
Did You Hear About the Morgans? (2009)
Pretty Bad, and That Means Something
I generally love romantic comedies, even Hugh Grant who never differs in his roles as the bumbling British guy. This movie was painful to watch. In particular Sara Jessica Parker. The role did not fit her acting. Is she normally a Nervous Nelly in real life? Because that is the way she played it. She did not fit what I would consider to be a high end real estate broker who runs her own company. She stuttered and stammered her way nervously through each scene and I couldn't imagine her representing me on any business deal, or him representing me as an attorney. The storyline had promise but the acting and script were terrible. I kept waiting and waiting for the good parts that never seem to come. Even though I watched it on cable and did not pay, per se, for the film. I actually fast forwarded through some scenes that were just too long drawn out and boring. These people were truly stupid. The other characters in the movie only helped a little bit. They were better then Grant and Sarah Jessica Parker.
