Tragic Writing...moronic plot :(
17 September 2022
Well i do not know what to say...stupid plot, bad acting (except Bale),...or overall a very disappointing movie.

Romance was somehow out of line and out of the overall pace of the movie, fighting scenes are poorly done, costumes look like plastic toys, jokes are dull...it looks like it was made to be moronic on purpose.

The movie has so many things in it and and so very little momenta s to enjoy. I am not sure this is even a "pop-corn movie", and i say this not out of disrespect to the efforts of the team, but out of regret. If this is awaiting all the Marvel heroes from now, then it is the leas to say disturbing.

Bale is stunningly good as always...lovely make up, lovely overall look and stellar performance.

Russel Crowe on the other side is totally miss-casted, and did deliver something that i did not quite get, but as i said earlier the whole vibe was somehow moronic.

Could have been a masterpiece....
31 July 2022
I absolutely loved the first two acts, up until act 3 where the tempo dripped significantly. The culmination was not intense enough, in order to match the tone that was set earlier in the movie. I liked it, but it could be so much better.

Great concept, presented with charm and humor....
11 May 2020
This is a sweet comedy, carrying a lovely concept about they way people change throughout the journey of life. Focusing on the message the story brings, you will find the hyperbolism at certain points charming rather than annoying. The characters have a diverse profile and one can easily tell that the actors had fun impersonating them. It is light, colourful and enjoyable. There were some truly beautiful scenes and angles with an overall nice sound editing.....It will leave you smiling for a while after it ends.

Surprisingly good!
1 May 2020
Overall this is a nicely done movie for the tight budget. Acting is good and authentic, Donkov makes one of his best performances by any standards. Directing is also good...there were some lovely shots/scenes especially during the opening. Script is believable, tight and in a way classic. Music was nicely picked, though sound editing could be better (but this goes for all Bulgarian productions). It is enjoyable, serious but not too heavy...there are some rough edges here and there but the overall result is worth your time :)

An old school spy movie, with slow pace and emjoyable Kingsley acting.
30 April 2020
If you do not like old school spy movies this one is not for you, if you do like them, then you will love it. Pros; The story is good and based on true events, the acting is great, the characters are well developed and there're is character depth. Cons: There were too many static scenes, I assume due to limited budget. The twist towards the end of the movie should be brought up 15 minutes earlier, as the closing scenes unfolded too fast compared to the overall pace of the movie, they could be further developed on the account of earlier stretched scenes. The directing and post-production/editing could have done much better. The same goes for music and sound effects which were not there. In a nut shell it is good but it could be a GREAT movie. A great spy movie on tight budget needs at least good editing and excellent sound and music. I enjoyed it but the mass public wont.

Beautiful, entertaining and funny...
21 October 2019
Watching the trailer one would expect a fairly standard story line, however reality truly surpasses expectations. The script goes deep into human relationships while keeping you laughing and entertained all the way with authentic situations and sophisticated humor. The viewer can easily relate with the characters and the situations they fall into. Dialogues are funny and vocalize many emotions and feelings people think but do not usually express out loud, which is both touching and entertaining. All this leads to a truly surprising and provoking finale, that leaves you involved long after the movie has ended. In nutshell.... It is rare to watch a meaningful though funny movie these days, i enjoyed every minute of it.

Now this is a great ad true Dredd movie
23 October 2014
Simply perfect... excellent script, great directing, good cast and acting.

The colors are so full and live that you feel pulled into a comic book which is actually a movie. I really loved the feeling it creates, the balance of all components that came together in a beautiful way. I don't believe that it could be done better. Every penny is well spent...visuals are great, without overdoing it...ambiance was so Megacity like...and finally a really great script - intense, interesting and original...in line with the overall feeling the original comic book gives you. Dredd is actually thinking, and making measured moves which make the character authentic, unlike the first full motion picture from 1995. I trust that true comic fans will love this one. Have fun!

Extremely beautiful movie...plot was weak
20 October 2014
If you like great ambiance, excellent directing and impeccable styling this is a movie that will please your eye...however the script and the plot do not merely match the level of the picture itself, and were disappointing to me. I would recommend it only in case you love the beauty of cinematography, light, perfect costumes and styling and deep underground ambient. If this is the case i can assure you that you will enjoy all the little details it has to give to the viewer. Choreography of fight scenes is cheap and messy, acting is adequate to the budget but could definitely be better. I would say - a decent movie that could be a great one, if it had a good script.

Poor script, poor acting, Willis appears for less than 10 min
10 September 2011
The movie was a waste of time and i am really disappointed. I could describe this movie as a "wanna be movie"...the director wants to be Guy Ritchie but he is not...50 cent wants to be an actor but he is not, Ryan Phillipe wants to be a bad guy but he is not, because of his baby face...when you see Bruce Willis on the cover you expect him to be actually present in the movie but he is not...everything in this project is poor...i really gave it a chance and watched all 90 min but it was a waste of time. The act was too slow, it tried to build up characters but it failed...many things were simply not there as script and acting. I had hard time understanding the words of 50 cent, Ryan Phillipe was OK but this character was simply not for him...he matches other roles much better...Bruce Willis was OK too but he had a very small and insignificant role.

Great parody, rather than a classic super hero movie.
17 March 2011
If you don't know what to expect and you haven't even seen the trailer than i believe you are going to have great fun. The movie is not a classic main stream super hero movie but a very nice parody making fun of the way super hero movies are made, emphasizing on their blank spots. Do not expect a meaningless script like "super hero movie". Green Hornet has its own storyline that is consistent, but the characters and situations are hilarious. I haven't laughed so much for a long time, which makes the movie a success judging by the result. I believe it is a great way to spent an evening if you want to relax and watch an easy entertaining movie.

The Tourist (I) (2010)

Lack of original story, just a good remake of the french movie "Anthony Zimmer"
21 February 2011
When I went to see "The Tourist" my expectations were really high, because I am a big fan of Johnny Depp and i believe his acting talent is admirable by any means. This combined with Angelina's feminine, posh and sexy contribution in most movies she participates in, was a reason enough to watch the movie. Unfortunately beside acting, nice locations and cinematography, for a good movie you need something very important - an Original Story!

In this case there was no such thing, simply because "The Tourist" is a remake of the 2005 french movie "Anthony Zimmer" staring Sophie Marceau and Yvaan Attal..."The Tourist" is an absolute replica of the french version and the only difference i could find is the venue (Venice in the remake and Nice in the original), as well as the faith of the local detective.

I believe that the American public will love the movie because most probably a french movie did not have much chance among the English speaking audience in the past, so very few people are probably familiar with the script outside Europe.

In brief i could say that the acting and cinematography were great, people that do not know the story will like it, though it is pretty predictable even if you haven't watched the original french movie.

The best Wall Street drama since "Boiler Room"
29 January 2011
Definitely the best Wall Street drama I've seen since "Boiler room". The story is more or less classic, tight and very realistic. As a professional who has been through this cycle of the financial markets I believe that all aspects and details in the movie are covered in an extremely accurate way and show the real picture without exaggerating. Authenitc characters (though i believe Madsens performance was poor), real situations, nice framing, and an ending that is not typical for a french film maker. All filming sites are properly selected and create a really nice wall street like atmosphere. I strongly recommend it to all the fans of the financial genre. I believe the French deserve recognition for doing such a good movie with a tight budget. Enjoy!
