Infinite (2021)
Mark Wahlberg must have been desperate for money
Mark Wahlberg must have been desperate for money to take a part in this movie. I could only watch about 10 minutes then I had to turn it off. It's 'B' movie and special affects all the way. Very little plot line. Not my kind of movie. I only started to watch it because Mark Wahlberg was in it Very, very disappointed. If Mark keeps making movies like this, he is going to end up like Nicolas Cage.
Bluff City Law (2019)
Highly Dissapointing
I watched this mainly because it had Jimmy Smits in it whom I liked in LA Law. Very disappointing in his performance. I got the impression that he was there because he had to be so he just read his lines and didn't bother to act. I watched two episodes hoping it would et better, it didn't! The show and characters were predictable with cookie cutter story lines. The writers didn't have to work very hard at this script. I really like law shows, but this one has no pizzazz. The acting was mundane at best by all of the characters. They had no life and no soul. I'll never know if it got better because I stopped watching it after the second episode.
Another Life (2019)
Bad, acting, bad script, bad everything.
I wanted to do a review of this really awful excuse for a TV series, but the previous 392 people have already said it all. One episode was all I could take. I can't believe Netflix would spend the money to produce this really bad program. Don't waste your time with this one, it has no redeeming qualities.
Fahrenheit 11/9 (2018)
The Good, the Bad & the Ugly. This movie has it all.
I recently watched this movie, and came away with mixed emotions. Not sure that I really liked it, as it was a little confusing, and VERY biased.
The movie deals a lot about Michigan. Governor Snyder and Flint are prominent in this movie, as is Trump. Not sure how to rate this movie. It made me laugh, it made me wonder, it made me angry, and it made me swear out loud. I think if you are from Michigan, it's worth watching.
The Grand Tour (2016)
Juvenile brain candy
I only watched this because it had such a high score by others. I turned it off after only 8 minutes. I can see where this might appeal to boys in their teens, but not adults. Driving cars recklessly, and people doing stupid things is not entertainment; it's eye candy and irresponsible. I can't see how this would have mass audience appeal outside of Britain. It's slapstick with cars. I never could understand British humor.
Detroit (2017)
It's not pretty, but it really happened this way.
Well I finally got my hands on a copy of the new movie, "Detroit." It was supposed to be all about the 1967 Detroit riots which I remember very well. Only about 10% of the movie involved the riots itself. The rest was about the police brutality, including the State police and national guard. Justice gone terrible wrong. Lots of violence and some profanity. The movie was very riveting, and I never lost interest while watching it. Keep in mind that the movie is based on fact, and what you see really happened the way it was portrayed on screen. It was a time in our history when good people went bad. Those of us, like me, who were here in Michigan and lived through the 1967 Detroit riots ( which also spread to Pontiac and Saginaw) will get more from this movie then those who were not there. You can't white wash history. This was the way it really was during the dark days of this riot. From this perspective, it was a great movie.
