Harrow (2018)
Quincy Down under
The opening title sequence is lovely. The entire season story arc is foreshadowed here and every episode the graphics make more sense. The title character, Daniel Harrow, a forensic pathologist working in Queensland, Australia. Dr. Harrow is brilliant but hated by everybody. Except he's not and they don't. Actually, he is kind of dull and everybody loves him. The whole show plays out as one cliche after another appears at just the right moment to form an astounding coincidence. The writing is bad.
There are no guns in Australia, except in this show they are everywhere. It doesn't matter because a murder charge will only get you 15 years and prisons are super easy to escape from. From this show I conclude that Australian police are the worst at their job of any police in the world. This show makes Australia look bad.
Everyone in this show stares at the camera with weepy eyes at some point. The acting is actually pretty good but still presented poorly. The directing is bad.
If you don't recognize cliches and you are not familiar with all the tired tv tropes you could watch this. Each episode had a small mystery and a big mystery. They solve the small mystery before the episode is done. There is always a romance going on and family drama.
Not a good show and not a bad show.
Assassination Nation (2018)
Garbage movie
Unlikable characters doing ugly things in an ugly world.
The Rookie: Manhunt (2019)
PC and predictable
The writing and directing on the show is so terrible. The predictable plot plus the politically correct nonsense is irritating to the extreme. I am a big fan of Nathan Fillion and I keep watching this show even though I am beginning to hate it. So much action every day and Nolan , West, and Chen are learning so many valuable lessons, it's not even close to realistic. The acting is pretty good with Eric Winter being outstanding and Nathan Fillion being his usual charming self with Afton Williamson as Nolan's Training Officer doing a credible job. However it's too busy making sure every character gets a backstory and a story arc that it falls apart.
