Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Witches of the Mist (2011)
Witches of the Mist Review
Witches of the Mist was spectacular! Although I'm not quite sure why it was called that way. The Nightsisters only appeared briefly. But never the less, this was the best episode yet, ever! First the Sith training, then the mission to Toydaria where the most intense moment of the Clone Wars took place: the death of King Katuunko. And then Asajj, failing to kill her master, sitting in a rescue pod, even brought up some sympathy for a Sith. And once more the details were amazing. For example, during the fight between Asajj, Savage and Dooku, you could still see the lifeless body of King Katuunko lying on the floor. And in that same fight, you probably noticed how Savage wasn't nearly as strong as Assaj. One last thing: in my opinion, the mysterious return of Darth Maul wasn't really necessary. For me, he'd better died on Naboo.
Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Monster (2011)
Monster review
For me, Monster was a good center part of the nightsisters trilogy. It contained the right amount of action and the end scene with Savage Oppress fighting the Jedi. Short but so powerful. It really lifted the episode to a very high level. Although a big part of the episode was already given away in trailers and other previews. You could see the introduction of Savage Oppress, him defeating Halsey and his padawan, Dooku's conversation with Mother Talzin and Asajj testing the Nightbrothers weeks or even months before the episode aired. But what I liked about this one were the numerous details like the shooting star or the sunrise. The last time I saw such a beautiful composition of light was in the episode 'Corruption'.
Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Nightsisters (2011)
Nightsisters
The Nightsisters trilogy started off with a 'big' bang. First of all there was that spectacular space battle between Asajj Ventress and Jedi Obi-Wan and Anakin which lead out to a lightsaber duel on a Separatist command ship. What I liked here was the fact that Assaj was a really dangerous opponent and not like the other times she fought a Jedi. Then you could easily tell who was going to win but now she fought very swiftly and acrobatically giving everything she got. But that duel - which was pretty short because of the fast changes in scenes - was nothing compared to that of Dooku vs Asajj and her fellow Nightsisters. It was breathtaking! The last time we saw Dooku fight was on Tatooine against Anakin or - if you call this fighting - while he was trying to escape in 'Dooku Captured'. Though for me the best part of the episode were the flashbacks of Asajj. One word: Amazing.
