Degenerates Ink (2010)
A pretty good Grindhouse...
Well...I never expect a lot when I watch Cryptic 24-7 horror movie channel, but was pleasantly surprised. Sometimes see something I've never seen before. This movie was pretty good. Very bloody and violent and empty of value for human life...just like a Grind house movie should be. A group of psycho serial killing tattoo artist's traveling in a van and tattooing and killing for robbery purposes. This is sort of like The Barber Of Seville meets Lydia The Tattooed Lady meets Inked. It is cheap and badly acted and had decent special effects and interesting camera angles. The plot kept moving so it was pretty entertaining and held my interest till the end. I recommend this to people that like drive-in type movies of which I am one. I worked many years at a drive-in in the 60's and this would have fit right in there. I can see it playing with Billy Jack back in the day.
Glenn, the Flying Robot (2010)
A broken and injured piano player teaches a robot to play the piano.
A sci-fi film set in the near future with pretty good special effects. A futuristic movie that I rather enjoyed. This is a love story about a jealous music genius (Jack)who is a rival for Lana (who is pregnant with Henry's child). The rest of the movie is about the feud over a woman that loves them both...but is done with both of them. Nothing heavy...but an enjoyable suspenseful ride. Gerard Depardieu is wasted in a cameo. Jack, because of an injury to his hand attempts to train the flying robot, so he can win the girl on a bet with Henry. This is just one of several reasons that Lana is done with them. The robot in this movie could have been considered cute...but the director avoids any temptations to do so. Stay after the credits for another couple of minutes of the film.
