Suits: Play the Man (2011)
Mike won the Mock Trial
I'm not sure why everyone was congratulating the plaintiff's lawyer in the Mock Trial. The court ruled in favor of the defendant. Yes, Mike didn't keep grilling Rachel because he didn't want to hurt her feelings (related to her not wanting to take LSAT again). But at the end, Pearson said the defendant won the case.
Good episode and great acting. Its obvious that MIke and Rachel are going to end up together. Their chemistry is better than Jenny and Mike. Plus Mike saved her a$$ several times. Why do I have to write so many words when I just have a brief opinion of the episode. Okay, that will do it.
Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities: Lot 36 (2022)
Great buildup but then.....
Loved the buildup of this story.
Tim Blake Nelson is such a talented actor, nails his role as the overstressed vet with severe financial issues.
The intro scenes were captivating and really engaged the viewer. Lots of questions, suspense and chilling scenes inside the storage building. Viewers who enjoy scenes about seances and the occult would love this story.
Then the final scenes arrive and the sinister reveal looks corny with cheap audio and visual effects.
Should have been more haunting and memorable. All I wanted to do was forget what happened to our main character.
I am looking forward to seeing all these episodes but the first one "Lot 36" needed a more sinister demon.
The Old Man: VII (2022)
Get to finally meet Hamzad....
And we get to watch him wake up, get dressed by someone else like Eddie Murphy in Coming to America. And then get reunited with his long lost daughter/mole/FBI agent/traitor. That's the BIG REVEAL that we have been waiting for this whole time!!!?? Wow, not impressed. At least there was some gun play from the assassin who forgot that there are some old ladies in the crowd with guns too.
The Old Man (2022)
Was severely waiting for Bridges to say "I'm the Dude".
What a cast! Bridges, Lithgow, Brenneman. Great scenes w the dogs!
By what a dud script. Pilot caught my attention and the subsequent episodes contained Bond type scenery. But the only action I saw in the last 4 episodes was the speeding boat trying to get away from the island, and the overpaid Range Rovers turning around on the road and going 80 mph the other way. For a spy series, there should have been more action and intrigue, and less rambling and pointless conversation. For example, how did the FBI agent/daughter/warlords kid get kidnapped so easily 2x? Did she even pick up a gun during the 7 episodes? And when Hamzad knew of the traitors, he just walks away and tells Chase to be gone by tomorrow?
Just too much talking and not enough action.
Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2022)
wow, Netflix, this needs to be removed asap
Don't know what that was. Supposed heroine gets a chainsaw ripped through her heart and gut and she is able to shoot Leatherface from 200 ft away? Man's face sliced in half and he is able to walk down the block?
This was bad effects, bad acting, and bad plot. Shameful addition to a classic horror series.
Countdown (2019)
Fun and entertaining, but not horror
Decent acting throughout, funny characters, especially the priest. Not on the same level as good horror, like Conjuring, or Grudge, but the use and movement of the evil spirit was done well. Puts you on edge of your seat. Main characters easy to look at for both genders. Obviously fictional narrative, but much more plausible than the Final Destination series. Worth 90 minutes of your time.
Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (2019)
Female Stormtroopers? Female Star Destroyer captains?
When did the cloning procedure start again and who was the clones based on? Since when did the Sith adopt the 19th century US women's suffrage movement ?
I understand that Leia was a princess and then a General but that was her lineage and upbringing. But Stormtroopers are male white clones (FINN was exception) and there were never females running around Darth Vaders or Kylo Ren's ships giving approvals to shoot planets down.
La casa de papel: Una tradición familiar (2021)
FOR ALL YOU WONDERING WHAT WAS IN THE NOTE TO RAFAEL
Great ending. I know that no government in the world would ever accept fools gold for real gold, but for storytelling, it was very clever. You have to admit.
Anyway, that was the point of the note to Rafael. He told him that they are going to persuade the govt of Spain to accept the fools gold, and that the actual gold will be held hostage. There was no more pressure on either group to keep the gold hidden. & obviously, since the Professors team found the gold, there was no way for Rafael to continue to hide it, and an all out gun war between both groups would not result in anything positive. Rafael was not the prognosticator of stealing in the first place, it was the ex-wife. Remember, she is the one who heard the plan from Berlin.
The Next Three Days (2010)
GREAT SUSPENSE, but dumb cops
Awesome story, suspense was incredible. Storyline always surprise and the acting was top notch. Would recommend this film to everyone.
However, the crime was obviously done by someone else. I figured out it wasn't her right away. But I am glad the film leaves that to a mystery by showing us well done cut up takes (her picking up the extinguisher, her trying to wash the stain out of her coat, the argument).
Come on Pittsburgh police, a person who just hit her boss with a fire extinguisher (and a person who just argued with said boss 30 minutes ago with many witnesses) would not leave the fire extinguisher right next to their own parking space, and drive off so normal out of the garage. Come one, a person who was going to kill their boss would not do it at the office garage at 5 pm when several people are coming and going. And why would the blood stain be on the back of the jacket if she hit her with the extinguisher? What did she do, wear it backwards for the kill? Did the blood travel up and backwards and then back again to her coat? And no other stains anywhere?
Saints and Soldiers: The Void (2014)
THIS review is for SCNDFORM reviewer
The character Owens was not THE ACTUAL JESSE OWENS, but an solder named Jesse Owens. If you go back and listen, he says he could lap the ACTUAL OWENS.
Writers would not make this obvious error about the ACTUAL OWENS.
Decent film for this WW2 buff, compliments on using correct tanks, however, the tanks look they are right off prod. floor though, not a tour thru Italy and Europe. Avg acting but like the moral of the story and the ending. And the young German soldier would not shoot his superior no matter what happened.
Criminal Minds: Blood Relations (2014)
No attempt at creativity
Proud Wheeling native,
I am from Texas but I don't own boots, a belt buckle or any livestock, but a lot of movies and shows depict Texans as all Cowboys. I have been over that stigma since I was 10 yrs old, and you can get over it too.
Oh, and by the way, the word "of" should never replace the word "have" in a sentence after the word "could" and "should".
Shameless: Order Room Service (2013)
not that bad, definitely NOT another cable sitcom
Bbraat:
You really think Frank went through with it getting into bed with those two 6 foot young guys with the pillow covering his lower half. He was exposed and thrown out of the hotel. So therefore the guy trying to convince him to go hetero did= not need him anymore either. Easy to predict.
Lip took 1.5 years to finish his senior year, that's two seasons.
Ian is not 18, so he used his brother's ID to get in, showing he's 18. And since he has ROTC experience and came in wearing camos, he was very convincing.
His family hates what Frank does on a daily basis, and hates that he drinks so much, but you only have 1 father in this world, and they want to help him when it's absolutely necessary. Look what happened when Granny finally died, they were glad she was gone, but were still very sad.
The Walking Dead: Thank You (2015)
Not dead
Glenn is not dead, so stop telling the writers you are not going to watch the show anymore because you think he is. This ending is going to attract more viewers because they want to see if Glenn survives this horrible scene. One of the various reasons he is alive: Why are Glenn's eyes still open and looking very much alive when you see the intestines being ripped out (from the other guy). This guy is the ultimate survivor.
Also, we needed to see the episode with Morgan showing his back story, so we could understand the changes he went through and how he learned to defend himself with Aikido, but I believe that episode could have been shown earlier or in the previous season.
