Tôkyô zankoku keisatsu (2008)
bad, really bad
Aren't Japanese people the best at making bizarre movies? You know, they can take an idea totally lame and senseless like "a Japanese pro-wrestler who transforms into a squid before he dies so he can fight again and go back with his girlfriend" and turn it in one of my favorite movies ever ("Calamari Wrestler"), but this... is not the case. Now, I have seen a lot of Japanese crap, and I love most of it, my favorite gore one is "Vampire Girl vs Frankenstein Girl", which is original, funny, senseless, with cheap effects and a lot of energy put into it; Tokyo Gore Police fails at all of those things, one thing is doing a gore movie with a plot always developing, and another thing is doing a gore movie with random blood at screen for a ridiculous amount of time, the plot stops suddenly for more than 10 minutes to show random flashbacks that don't make sense, violence sequences that can last less than a minute but instead they last more than 5, characters that suddenly appear, you don't know who they're and "oh, he is dead. Maybe I would be touched in some way if he had any character development at all". To sum up this movie is bad, REALLY BAD, and is the only Japanese bizarre movie that I gave less than 5 stars, avoid this one if you can and watch something else.
Fainaru fantajî X (2001)
a 9.2? A 9.2?? how many FF have you played??? is this a joke?
I mean... I'm breathless, I simply can't believe that FFX has a better score than FFVI (which I think is the best in the series), I mean.. I, what the hell where they thinking, I have been expecting for six long years to play this game, I was only able to play the sequel when I was 14 and I loved it, it's really entertaining, has a lot of replay value, not annoying characters, and it FEELS like a FF, how can ANYBODY say that it is not a worthy sequel, is ten times better than the original!!!
Have you ever played a FF besides FFX? I don't think so, I mean, I don't "hated" all FFX, it has some great characters, awesome music, incredible videos, revolutionary battling and leveling system, but there're 4 things that ruined a HUUUGE part of the game:
1 - Tidus: Oh my god, I think I never, EVER have seen a more horrible character in all FF history or in Video Game History than Tidus, MY GOD, I don't even know how to describe it, he just, cries all the time, acts like a retard, and the laugh, MY GOD his laugh, I have never seen a more horrible voice acting, nobody say nothing to him while he was doing that awful performance? really? my god. Oh and also he is in love with Yuna but for some reason he likes pffft don't talk of the subject ever again after his first kiss.
2 - Game Over...ing?: I find a huge flaw that annoys me a lot in the game and is that, if in battle, your 3 main battlers dies, is a game over, a F***ING game over, I mean.. why is that? I know that happens in all the others FF too, but the difference here is that when 3 dies there're still 4 more characters alive just a few meters behind them!! why aren't the dead ones replaced by the living ones? I mean, it makes NO sense at all!
3 - The Temples: for sure the most boring parts of the game are in temples, you have 30mins of fighting followed by... 45 minutes of senseless puzzles... and every time thet get even MORE boring, I almost died doing the first temple, I couldn't believe a FF could have such a senseless mandatory test to pass.
4 - Story development: This is BY FAR the worst aspect of the game, the game has a great story, it's very original and well thought, but OMG, how can such a great story be so horribly developed?, this was the most linear FF ever, and I'm not kidding, it's PAINFULLY linear, in all the previous FF you always had the opportunity to go back to the other towns, walk freely over the world, and it looked like an epic travel to save the world, in FFX the world feels like it is 20km long and the epic travels of Yuna happens in like a week, what-the-hell.
To sum up, it is a good entertaining game yes, but it is also the worst Final Fantasy game yet. A 9.2 MY GOD!
Tron: Legacy (2010)
Best sequel I have seen in decades
This Tron is an excellent sequel, and I don't only say that because of the visuals (which means nothing to me), it has an excellent OST, a very good story (though not as deep as in the first Tron), good acting and dialog (compared with the first movie) and though the actual motivation of Clu is not revealed until the end, the movie does not get you bored so you can get there OK.
I really recommend this film to all the fans of the first movie, except in the case that you're the kind of SUPER nerd who find flaws in everything, in that case you better don't watch it with high expectations.
I gave the original Tron a 6.8, I give to this movie a 7.2.
MacGruber (2010)
by far the worst movie I have ever seen
This is by far the worst movie I have EVER seen, I had high expectations on this movie because I love the MacGruber sketches, but this... this was even worse than "Superhero Movie", it was not funny at all, slow, tedious and boring, and the sex scenes were just awful, I can't believe that someone actually liked this movie, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone ever, and I think every copy should be burned, because it was an insult for the fans of the MacGruber's sketches, and to all comedy fans in general, I feel like my time has been robbed and I want it back.
If you want to see the REAL MacGruber then go to NBC web page, don't waste a penny in the movie.
Avatar (2009)
It's good, but you CAN'T call it a masterpiece
Avatar is a good movie, it's not "awesome" or "unique", and it's not even by chance "the best movie ever made" (god no). For start, I don't find the CGI or animation being important in any movie, I found the plot, OST and characters being the most important part of a movie; in those aspects:
- The movie had a good (but not remarkable) OST, it's good, but after 3 hours becomes tedious.
- The plot was good also and I liked how they represented colonialism, but did you noticed that Jake NEVER speaks to the Na'vi about the unobtainium and why they were invading them? THAT WAS YOU PRIMARY ORDER DUDE!. It also had nothing new or "revolutionary" like all the critics were saying for some reason, it's just another random Hollywood plot which looks like if it was promoted by Greenpeace.
- About the characters, the only good thing I found is how the Na'vi were made, they're very convincing for me, but that was the only good part. I hated the rest of the characters, about Neytiri, the movie ended and I couldn't remember her name, I think they mentioned it like 3 times in the whole movie (she was a MAIN character) and she was like a bad-ass 16 teenager or something alike that doesn't seem right for a love nature princess; the "evil" guy had no brain at all, one would think that in a future where they can create giant-blue-people-clones, they would have some kind of mental standard to choose a general who will lead an army in the space, but no. And all the "original" creatures that Camron created, they seemed like a big "Final Fantasy X" plagiarism, really, FFX has a tribe of savage-blue-giant people, has an Eidolon called Ixion who is identical to the Na'vi's horses, has dragons which seems a lot like those in the film, and has flying light balls of energy like those "jellyfish".
So in conclusion, if I had to choose between watching Avatar again or playing Final Fantasy X, I would stay home and play FFX, is practically the same with a better plot and more interaction.
