Operation Ragnarök (2018)
I took a chance...
...watched the whole thing from start to finish, while folding clothes. Sometimes you find gems in low budget movies. This wasnt the case here.
To put it short; the actors do a good job, and the low budget effects could have been passable, if only the writing and direction hadnt been so bad.
Its been a long time since I saw characters behave so irrational and trivial as they do here...
The movies underlying theme could have been interesting to unfold, albeit pretty obvious, but it cannot sustain the lack of attentive writing and direction.
If I hadnt been folding clothes it would have gotten 1 star...
Interstellar (2014)
What a trip....
Not only is this the first time I sit down and write somewhat of a review, but also one of the first times I'm pretty confident in giving this movie a clean 10.
I'm sitting here 5 hours after coming out of the theatre wishing I could see it immediately again!
The premise is pretty well known, so I wont go over that, but it's hard to really say anything then, because I don't want to spoil anything for any of you.
What I can say is that I really really liked how imagery, sound and music seemed to reach an all time high. Place on top of that, tight editing without needless "then they did this and did that", solid acting across the board and another case of "let's build the damn sets instead of rendering them!" and you've got yourself one of the best movies ever made.
Let me say... I can already see where the critiques and users critque is going to hit...
But since I can't really elaborate on anything without spoiling, I'll just say that I think that choices made in how much is told and explained is near perfect. The story is as tight as tight can be, and that is without serving anything on a plate.
So what's left to say?
Go see that damn thing, this will have you sitting on the edge of your seat in some places holding your breath in others and then exhaling as well as crying.
It's one of those movies where you go out from it and you can't really say what it is, but something in your brain changed. You get that "ofcourse!" reaction.
And for those of you who ever experienced a "thought loop" lasting hours... well, you might see something that will explain that :)
Have a great time people!
