Meg 2: The Trench (2023)
If you have kids this is for y'all.
The first one was fun! We watched the second last night, it was pretty bad. 9 movies ripped off and mashed together through sloppy what I'm guessing were arguments amongst the writers. Some wanted Jurassic Park/World, some wanted Underwater, and I think one even wanted Josie and the Pussycats! Because if you didn't get Parker Posey from the "villain" you probably never saw JatP 😆. On top of the 9 plot lines fighting each other for control it's was just unrealistic. Like EXTREMELY unrealistic. Not fun sci-fi/horror/action unrealistic, more like I could only handle this if I was 12 level of unrealistic. Which maybe they were going for because plots were warped even further at certain points just to put the 14 year old on center stage. Quite honestly it felt like a Nickelodeon movie.
The Family Law (2016)
Promising show
I saw this on Hulu and started it thinking it would be great. And parts of it are, however the main character is absolutely insufferable. Every time I find myself getting into a storyline Ben comes in makes everything seem exaggerated and extra. If I met him in real life I wouldn't be able to stand him. He should be the quirky brother not the main character. The rest of the show is alright enough, the storylines are interesting and relatable. The rest of the cast is enjoyable enough, only the mother really shines though. All in all this Australian attempt at reimagining "Fresh off the Boat" falls short, mainly due to casting.
Ally McBeal: Fear of Flirting (2001)
Vomit in your mouth much?
Stop at season 4. You'll thank me. I'm 4 episodes into season five, obviously, and the show has gone completely lost. Yes there were problematic episodes before this but at this point I'm just over it. And all that aside the show is just not good anymore. There's a reason it was cancelled and was lucky to even finish airing on a different night on FOX. 246 characters still?? How much more can I even say? So I guess I'll ramble on. This show has become everything I don't miss about the 2000s and 90s. It's trying to be progressive while packed full of micro and passive aggressions. The fact that it was seen as feminist speaks volumes about the time I grew up in.
9-1-1: Lone Star: Push (2022)
Exaggerations to the hugest degree.
Once again another episode of the most unrealistic "blizzard". At first I laughed about it now it's killed this show for me. I can't even pay attention anymore because everytime I do another extremely unrealistic thing is happening. To a previous viewer no there isn't an ounce of accuracy in this show anymore. I write this as it's -26F with the windchill in shorts on my couch. Might drive to the store later and get a pop. Hope my gas doesn't disappear from the snow and I die. *eye roll*
9-1-1: Lone Star: Shock & Thaw (2022)
Corny and nonsensical
I'm starting to feel like I'm watching Reno 911! Instead of Lonestar. If you've never actually lived through real winter don't write about apparently. Legit ridiculous plot lines.
Firebite (2021)
Not bad and steadily entertaining.
Ive found it unique so far and really interesting. Don't understand all the weird reviews about "bad acting". The acting has actually pretty good . . I never knew Australia had such a problem with prejudice until reading these reviews quite honestly.
9-1-1: Lone Star: The Big Chill (2022)
Laughable unfortunately
I keep forgetting some people have never had an actual winter. As someone from Northern Minnesota all I can say is no..just no... I guess you guys KIND OF TRIED . . But no lol. This was just plain poor writing. Also I type this as my echo show tells me "Winter Storm Warning" hahahaha. But I digress.
The Stand (2020)
I'll leave my review short and simple until it's all aired.
Why would they leave out so many amazing parts just to add pointless dribble? Stop trying so hard to get new fans and give all of us actual fans more of what we want. Also the time skips are one of the worst things you could have done to this story. It's be like reading the novel and flipping to the middle every few chapters. Who does that? No one because that's just stupid.
Welcome to Plathville (2019)
Horrible
My heart breaks for these kids dude. I can't even look at the dads patronizing face without wanting to puke. Watched one episode and decided never again. The parents are delusional and total ***holes. Skip this, you'll thank me later.
While She Was Out (2008)
Who wrote this?!
I feel like this was written by someone with the emotional and societal awareness of a middle schooler. Weak plot, weak acting, and absolutely ridiculous dialogue. I ended up getting so stoned I laughed my way through the second half.
Busy Tonight (2018)
Trashy and I LOVE IT
Best nighttime talk show since WWHL. Ive been laughing through every episode. Fight me.
