Badland (I) (2019)

Cheesy film

Acting was bad because the script was crap! I have seen over 300 westerns because I love the genre, but this was just horrible. Don't waste your time.

The Hunters should be hunted for a lousy story
26 February 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I wanted very much to like this show. The premise was very interesting. Modern day vigilantes tracking down Nazis living in America. If the show had kept the pace of the opening sequence, it would have been a fantastic series. When the new guest arrives at the BBQ only to realize her host is the man from her nightmares, I was riveted, couldn't take m eyes off of Dylan Baker. The man is a genius and very creepy! It was wonderful to watch. It all went to crap after that. But I stayed with it, and to be honest, I was not surprised by the revelation of Pacinos character nor of The Colonel's identity and the man who's face we don't see, just a little mustache. Duh!

The Morning Show (I) (2019– )

A great show with two great actresses
1 November 2019
Well, I'm not surprised at all when you have talent like Reese Witherspoon. You expect a wonderful performance and she delivers. But the true wonder is Jennifer Aniston. She gives a standout performance as Alex the main character who wakes up one morning to find that her life has imploded by her on air partners involvement in the "Me Too" movement. Alex handles everything situation wonderfully and Jennifer the actress makes each scene look so easy the way she navigates the emotions is superb. I always loved Jen. Thought she was a fine actress and was wasted on some projects she's done in the past. I hope people will finally see how versatile she is and not just another beautiful blonde. What these two women are trying to do with this show is remarkable, kudos to them both. An an honorable mention to Martin Short who came across as creepy and disgusting. Good job Marty. Excellent show. Worth watching!

I know why I like it and so do you!
30 December 2018
You have a smile on your face throughout this film. What's not to like? You have Sonja Henie who does some beautiful skating, John Payne, choreography be Hermès Pan and music by Glenn Miller and his orchestra. Throw in Lynn Bari and that voice of hers, Milton Berle playing the bands manager, a cameo by comedienne Joan Davis, and a dance routine by the Fabulous Nicholas Brothers and you have a wonderful film. The plot is simple. In other to drum up publicity for the band, their manager, Berle, has the band adopt a war orphan. When they arrive at the airport expecting a small child, they get a grown woman, Henie. Hyjinxs ensue. It's a great picture just to listen to the music. Miller and his band where the voice of their generation. Moonlight Sernade is still one of the most beautiful songs ever written and to hear their music is wonderful. Just 3 years later Miller would disappear in a plane over the English Channel. Don't miss out on your chance to see this film.

Give me give me more!
4 December 2018
Why all the bad reviews? I found this film to be charming and delightful! Holes in the story, yes, but I've always maintained that this is a MOVIE, it's fantasy people! Get over it! Lily James is marvelous as the young Donna and we catch glimpses of Meryl's Donna in her performance. The entire cast is wonderful. CHER! Enough said. The woman is phenomenal no matter what she does. One moment in the film when Andy Garcia's character sees Cher's character for the first time just wrenches your heart! When he sees across the courtyard and calls her name, I burst out in tears each time! But the sweetest moment is the ending when Donna and Sophie sing "My Love, My Life" together. You will keep a smile on your face throughout the film, but hang onto those hankies!

Rampage (2018)

A fun old fashioned Monster flick
22 July 2018
Rampage is one of those films for which you do not expect perfection. Dwayne Johnson along with Jeffrey Dean Morgan play the heroes here who are trying to prevent 3 animals who's DNA have been accidentally modified, from running a rampage on the City of Chicago. You shouldn't expect high cinema from these films so sit back, relax and enjoy.

Casablanca (1942)

Casablanca-Greatest film of all time?
22 April 2018
There has been much written about Casablanca since it was released in 1942 and most of it is about the excellence of this classic film. You can't help but love this picture! You become mesmerized by the actors and the scenes they play. The story is interesting and the film in my opinion is flawless. After watching this picture your faith in humanity is once again restored. These people are the real superheroes, not the cartoon characters worshiped in today's films. Rick Blaine and Victor Lazlo where no Redford or Newman when it came to looks, but damn if they weren't sexier! Who knew after watching Bogie in so many 30's gangster flicks that he would be the epitome of love and romance in the 40's. And how can you not help but love and feel empathy for Ingrid Bergman as we watch her struggle with the love she feels for Rick and the pride and loyalty she feels for Victor? As always, Claude Rains, Perez Lorre, Sydney Greenstreet, S.Z. Sakall, Conrad Veidt, Dooley Wilson, Leonid Kinskey and the remaining supporting cast are remarkable. If you've never seen it, do yourself a favor, grab a box of Kleenex, round up the usual suspects and watch this film. You won't be sorry. Here's looking at you kid!

Film Noir/Thriller
22 April 2018
This film is not a horror story but a good old fashioned thriller. I found it to be a fun film to watch on a dark foggy night. It's worth it just to see a young June Lockhart give a great performance as a young heiress who is convinced she is a Werewolf.
