Taken from the hardcover comic books by Jean Van Hamme and Philippe Francq and adapted for television, this film is the begining of the wonderful adventure of a hero who, the only powers in his hands are his charm, sense of adventure and justice.

It's the story of an orphan (Largo Winch) who finds out that his rich billionaire tycoon father (Nerio Winch) got killed and that he inherits all his assets. Eventually he is the target of a secret organization and also all his father's enemies.

This film is important because it is the starting film that made possible a wonderful television series called the Largo Winch series. It is also important because its co-producers are from many countries including Canada, France and the U.S.A. It shows to the world that co-operation can sometimes produce an interesting result...

Not many series featuring an hero taken out of the hardcover comic books and adapted for television with real humans can become so successful that its success has gone beyond the co-producers hope in France. Why ? because Largo is an hero who deals with real problems in the real world in each episodes. No magic powers, exagerated special effects and gimmicks like they use with other comic books hero that have been adapted for television. Of course, the main actor's charm played a lot for the success of this series and now has a loyal following of fans, and so has the rest of his team helping him.
