NCIS: Sydney (2023)
Why???
I was excited to see something new on TV in light of the actors/writers strike. This is not what I had hoped for. The acting is horrible. The writing leaves a lot to be desired. The best thing I can say is that the accents are authentic; however, that often makes it difficult to understand a lot of what they're saying.
I haven't watched many of the NCIS franchise, but what I have seen is way better than this.
The first episode is almost over and I literally have no idea what the hell just happened!
I would rather watch reruns of BBT over and over than watch garbage just to fill the empty air time.
The Good Nurse (2022)
Disappointed
I love Jessica Chastain and Eddie Redmayne. Eddie's portrayal of Charlie was absolutely incredible and Jessica did a great job, especially convincing Charlie that she supported him. Sadly, I found the movie slow and somewhat boring.
I was not aware that this was based on a true story, although I was familiar with the story on which it was based.
Some of the characters seem superfluous and some of the acting among the supporting cast (read: law enforcement) was really bad.
I just don't know if this story really needed to be made into a movie. I think Jessica and Eddie did the best they could with what they were provided.
From Scratch (2022)
Better than the Book!
I rarely say this, but this was even better than the book. There is no way they could have told the whole story in a two-hour movie and done it justice. This was so well done. It opened up a lot of old wounds, but also helped to heal them.
Did Zoe look older than her character's age in the beginning? Yes, probably, but if that's the worst thing you found to complain about in this series and you rated it based on that alone, I have to wonder what you would consider a good movie..
Well-acted, authentic accents, lovely cinematography, and a two-tissue box heartbreaker. I cried during much of the series and having read the book, I already knew what it was about!
Partner Track (2022)
I'd give it a zero if I could
I've been in the legal field for 30 years, 25 of which were in law firms, and after 10 minutes I could tell you without a doubt that this show obviously doesn't take place in a labor and employment law firm because if it were, there would be no TV series.
The acting is horrible. The audio sucks.
Whoever wrote the script obviously doesn't know any lawyers, has never been in a law firm, and has had zero exposure to the legal community. Professionals do not talk to each other the way these people talk to each other. Which makes me wonder if the writers have ever even worked in an office environment.
0/10
100% unrealistic, terrible acting
Do not recommend.
How We Roll (2022)
Ouch
Really bad acting. The concept is different which is unusual nowadays, but it's just painful to watch. The acting is forced and fake. Timing is off. No chemistry.
Chad (2021)
Seriously???
How in the hell did this get renewed? This show has absolutely no redeeming qualities. There must be a shortage of new shows this season or some thing because there's no way this should still be on TV.
In the Dark (2019)
Had promise but....
I was on the fence, leaning towards liking it, until episode three when the principal walked into the bathroom and asked her if she had a boyfriend and they proceeded to have sex then in there. That's just so ridiculous. Had promise... very disappointed.
Single Drunk Female (2022)
Realistic and relatable
I had no idea what to expect, but the acting is exceptional. The concept is original and the script is well written. It definitely kept me interested and wanting more.
Wind River (2017)
So much potential
The audio was horribl - muffled and intelligible for much ofmovie.
So many unanswered questions:
What did the deputy see?
Why didn't anyone help Annie when she was cutting herself?
Why did Jane show up woefully unprepared for the weather?
Why was there a spider crawling in the snow (and what was the point of showing it)?
When Nature Calls (2021)
Stupid
I literally just watched a montage of a brown bear singing "I want to fornicate, I want to hibernate." What are you people thinking? Absolute waste of time, The Voice surfers are awful. What could've been a beautifully filmed, informative, interesting show fell flat on its face. I only give it to start because of the cinematography.
Penguin Town (2021)
An Absolute Delight!
This was, in my opinion, absolutely perfect! The cinematography, the music, and the information were absolutely incredible, but Patton Oswald's narration was spot on! Amusing, informative, riveting, even a little tense at times ... just a wonderful series.
United States of Al (2021)
How is this still on...?
And renewed? Adhir Kalyan's acting is horrible, his "accent" is ridiculous, and as the lead actor, he brings down this show that could've had potential.
Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist (2020)
Where are they going?
I loved the first season. The acting and character and analysis were great, and the music always made me happy. This season is so depressing and it's no longer a feel-good show.
Dark Places, Deadly Illusions (2021)
Why????
This is a Lifetime movie on hormones. The acting was horrible, the plot was unbelievably ridiculous... I'm just glad that I was smart enough to not lose two hours of my life by cutting it off after the first hour.
